Anyone else use weeds for decoration?

Oh, really? Good to know! One thing that's been holding me back is not wanting to reduce my star rating... not because I want more lily of the valleys (I already have more than I know what to do with 😅) but just because... IDK, I guess I want my villagers to be really happy to live here? I'm so weird 😂

Oh! Is it a generally accepted thing, then? Like, more than just a rumor? I'd LOVE for it to be real, I sure hope it is!
It would make a really nice fall update for sure 😉

Glancing over my island, I have an area I could easily convert to a farm- right in front of my orchard, which is right in front of my forest.
Of course, I'd want to add a new farmer character so I could have a proper farm house ☺
 
My town is totoro-themed, and so I tried to make my forest at spawn very lush! I included weeds to make it seem more full, and they honestly make it look a lot better in my opinion, so if y'all are looking to add more decorations, I def. reccomend using weeds! :)

A reliable dataminer named ninji, uncovered it in the games file. So, Im 99% sure it'll be in one of the upcoming updates.

Ooh, I hope so! It could ALSO be a kind of neat late summer update... but I doubt we'll get that lucky 😝 I saw it on a list of things to be added that also included diving and The Roost (we're halfway there, then), but I felt like the other two were pretty safe bets to see added anyway.

Totoro themed is a very cute idea!
 
I use to, but got tired of replanting them when they grew. I think maybe one day I'll use them for decoration again when I am getting close to finishing my island
 
I used to use them on the beach, I loved the way it looked but keeping them from overgrowing was becoming annoying. Now I like to use different flower seedlings, it has the same effect and they don't grow in the sand so they stay little forever. :)
 
I haven't really used them yet (mostly because I haven't started decorating my town yet, whoops), but I know some people use them as a way to control where items can / cannot be placed. It's actually really cool, I like it a lot. I might use weeds whenever I do decide to start decorating, but that's probably something I will take care of down the line.
 
I was, but then I heard it's bad for your island rating. I don't know how true that is.
 
All the seaweeds I've gathered from diving are scattered around the shorelines of my island. It looks great if there are shells that spawn next to it. Really with starfish an be used to decorate the beaches as well.
 
I got to 5 star to farm some lily of the valley then I replanted weeds to get back to the more "natural" look. The weeds look better than the flowers to me, honestly. XD

Did your island go back to 4 stars from the weeds? I've had a ton of weeds and it stayed at 5 stars. Or at least what I thought was a lot of weeds.
