Anyone else still buying amiibo cards?

I keep telling myself to wait for an English rerelease (fingers crossed) but I just cant help myself! I refuse to pay over $20 for a single card but Ive managed to find a few decently priced cards, I recently got a Deirdre card for $8 and a Poncho card for $6. Im now eyeing a Claude card someone is selling for $15 but thats kinda pushing it for me.

really wish nintendo would have done a rerelease with the launch of the game

Anyone else still buying cards? and if you are where have you found good deals? (Ive personally been using Mercari)

I use ebay and I've found a few good deals. Most cards are completely out of my budget and I'd never spend more than like $8 on a single card. I'm hoping for an English rerelease too! I want to collect every card someday so it's a long road ahead lol

Collecting every card is the dream really kicking myself for not buying more packs when they were readily available

I havent check ebay much bc I assumed itd be mostly overpriced but Ill definitely give it a second look

i've actually bought 100% of my cards from ebay!! granted, the tier 1 villagers are like... criminally overpriced, you can find some lower tiered villagers on ebay for really cheap.
currently eyeing spork's amiibo for like 3$ lol

omg for real!! the only thing more shocking than the tier 1 amiibo prices is seeing theyve actually been bought D :
whenever I see a card for $3, even if I wasnt considering the villager for my island, I always consider it just a little....

like i can admit i've paid 20ish dollars for amiibos for my dreamies like zucker and kiki just bc i wanted to treat myself amidst all this corona virus stuff, but when i see an amiibo selling for 60-100$ heck even 50$ i gag like THATS A WHOLE GAME esdfl,swisohjksd

i've been wanting to grab pietro's card actually, but he's one of these cases. selling for around 60 and i cry

Amiibo cards got reissued in Japan recently so I ordered 5 packs for a few series. They won't be sent out until September though... Luckily I already had a ton from when they first came out so haven't had to buy any for this game release. I'm missing a few villagers I like but they're too expensive for my blood.

I used to, but the inflated prices drove me to figure out how to make my own amiibo. Turns out its crazy easy. Either way, I'm not giving money to Nintendo... I'll consider buying legit again if they release a new series.

before nh came out, i was scouring for amiibo cards and managed to buy a couple for really cheap! like joey was a whole $1 and bob was $5 from fb marketplace lmaoo. but rolf got absolutely ridiculous in prices so i only have an nfc tag of him from a friend, but i’m still looking to buy his card

RIGHT uwesiozhus i think the most i paid was 25 for villagers like chief, zucker, wade. and while i certainly wouldnt pay that price for all the amiibos, at least it wasnt 100 like sdopzijsd
there is something to be said of having collectibles but considering we're on the verge of a possible rerelease and and probably at one of the worst times seriously ever to buy amiibo cards, buying one for around 100 is just silly rn :'^)

I wish I would have had to foresight to start buying before the game came out ; - ; Im actually also looking for Rolf but his card has been a little too much for me :- ( praying for that rerelease

I have over 300 villager cards from stocking up on packs in 2016 and then just trading over the years. Hopefully they rerelease for retail prices in Walmart, Target, etc. again for all the new fans and people who missed out. The only really popular villager I don’t have a card for is Apollo but I definitely will never pay $30 or whatever for the card

Oh I don’t t have Lucky either but that’s because I’d never use his card lol.

I am and honestly the inflated prices on some cards have made it a lot easier for me to appreciate the unpopular villagers because I like to browse the cheap cards for villagers that I find cute. I just purchased a card of Renée the Rhinoceros before making this post. I have spent a pretty penny on about 2 or 3 particular cards but there were worth it to me. They were either gifts for my girlfriend or a villager that was very special to me, but for other random villagers that I like I will spend days scrolling through sites until I find a price I can tolerate. I could wait until the cards release again but I've been working many more hours recently and buying these cards with my extra cash has been therapeutic for me. A treat really. I don't mind the custom amiibo, but I'm a collector by heart so I can't help but be faithful to the authentic cards. It's just a personal preference that I'm willing to pay a bit more for.

Omg I definitely feel this! I was initially interested in Poncho bc his card was so cheap but now Im genuinely excited to have him on my island
