Anyone else have a really great “starting” 3?

The three secondary starters for me were Zucker, Bertha, and Cheri. Not a bad bunch at all. I know people don't like the hippos, but Bertha is cute. I was sad to let her go. Zucker has become one of my favorites who I will never let move, and Cheri is cute. Not one of my favorites, but definitely among the better of the bears.
Oh sure. I meant it both ways though. Like “great to you” and “super popular”. My wife has Celia and I adore her. I found her on a NMT and she said NO WE CANT HAVE THE SAME VILLAGERS so I’m left to watch her from afar.
So far, the only 2 villagers I just can’t see myself parting with are Kabuki and Erik. Erik is perfect. He’s adorable. He says funny stuff all the time and he’s always watering my plants. Kabukis look was jarring at first but hes so great. I love interacting with him.
I got super attached to my NL villagers and only let one leave. I'm trying to let people go in NH. So far I have't turned anyone down, but I am considering moving forward only letting people go if they gave me their picture first. But talk to me when Muffy pings to go, we'll see what happens.
So in ACNH I wanted to try out villagers I never had in ACNL (ACNL was my first game) and villagers who I didn't have amiibo cards for. I do have some cards for some villagers I never got around to scanning in on ACNL, and I figure I can bring them in sometime later in ACNH.
So hopping around on some islands, I ran into Norma. A pink cow! I figured she was pretty neat, and I definitely never had a cow before. So she was my first.
Next up, I was soooooo excited. I ran into Dizzy *o*
Dizzy is friggin' adorable. He's a totally cute elephant (my first elephant) and he's a lazy! I love him.
The biggest bonus is that one of my newer rats is named Dizzy. She's a girl, but I love her so much and I just love having Dizzy in my game too.
Anywhosy, I ended up finishing the houses and forgot to grab the third villager. I thought I picked someone but uh, I didn't.
Apple was my random move in. She's cute hamster, and hamsters are a win to me. I'm not a big fan of all the peppy talk though.
After all this time, I have lost a lot of interest in Norma and I will probably let Apple go at some point too (with what, 400? villagers, I really want to cycle through more of them in this game).

First island: Megan, Tammi, and Stitches (I didn't realize you could invite 3 and had only invited Stitches)
Second island: Tia, Punchy, Audie
Third island: Filbert, Daisy, Audie (invited the first two only to get to the peppies quicker since I had my current villagers being held by cyclers).

Probably not great from a popularity viewpoint, but I got three I was really happy with. Raddle and Peanut can even keep their starter interior since they're going to move into a little colorful wood type of fishing village (I don't like Peanut's real home that much better, and Raddle's dialogue actually works better this way.) Nan was a placeholder but she grew on me and I have her card, so I already upgraded her house.
After she spends a week with them, she'll be off the fence.
I've had them for the past six years and they bring so much joy to my life!
The only problem is they are addicting
If there's anything she's worried about specifically, I'd be happy to offer advice :3
Definitely in my case, I got so lucky! I got Reneigh and Iggly as my starters, and then found Melba, Punchy and Audie on literally the first islands I flew to except one which I skipped which had Hornsby on it. I could not believe my luck to be honest.
Yeah this is how I felt with the 3 I got. Was just bummed they had starter houses. I like Erik too much to care (his house is also not so different from his true house) but I would like Merengue in her house.

Having Erik would have been even better! But yeah it's somewhat sad about their houses, so I'm even counting myself lucky that I didn't get my dreamies who have really great houses, like Genji.

i found merengue, carmen, and sherb! i loved all of them, but out of them, i kept sherb because hes such a cutie!
On my first island, my first lazy villager was Sherb, so that was exciting. Unfortunately it was through him that I discovered I don't really like what they did with the lazy personality in this game, so he didn't stay with me, but I'm glad I was able to get him to someone who appreciates him.
I think mine were pretty good! I got Audie, Marina, and Joey. Joey is a dreamie of mine, my favorite little Ducky, and Marina and Audie are both pretty popular. Marina has moved out already, and I'm not planning to keep Audie but I know it won't be hard to find someone who wants her.

I invited Clay and Marina from the islands and then I got Sprinkle as a random move-in. Pretty good, but especially since Marina and frankly all of them are statistically pretty easy to get now I don't feel like I was super lucky or anything. Happy for Sprinkle though - I'm actually okay with her starter house, she looks cute in it. And Clay is probably the best fitted Lazy to the starter lazy house, so I don't mind keeping him that way either. Marina's fine, but I'm really after Melba...
