Anyone else happy with their island?

I'm happy! A little overwhelmed and unsure how to go about big terraforming changes, but I'm optimistic that I can make an island that I love without making many cliff and water changes! I have a town-plaza area and a few different "neighborhoods," last week I made a zen garden and I created some open spaces for a public pool area and a spot to move my museum to. This week, I'm trying to give all of my villagers yards and flower gardens to give everything a community feel. To me, going week by week with plans makes things easier, instead of saying "today I will..." give yourself some more time! Feel things out as you go, take a day or two to decide on tougher terraforming ideas rather than trying to do everything as quick as possible. This is a slow game, take it slow if that helps you ^^

When the game first came out I started right away and I was pleased with my Island but it had flaws. Now that I have a new Island due to data corruption, I am much happier with the layout. I know exactly where everything is going to go and I have the secret beach and the plaza in the center of the map so it is perfect for my ideas. I am only bummed that I got Oranges and not Peaches. But having to restart has been perfect for me to get my ideas to work.

Compared to what I'd experienced over the years in Wild World and New Leaf, I have to say, I am super pleased with my island in New Horizons, simply because I've been given so many awesome tools to shape it into whatever kind of island I desire.

I still feel a little amazed when I stop to think about it. In previous games, I couldn't remove inconveniently placed rocks. I couldn't remove trees without chopping them down. I couldn't put villager houses exactly where I wanted them. I certainly couldn't change the course of rivers!

It's not a perfect game. But it's close. At least for me. I'm having such a great time.

I'm really happy with my island! Initially, I was peeved because my airport was about two spaces off from Resident Services and I even considered resetting because I wanted a new island name. Now, I'm super proud of what I've been able to accomplish!

I named my island Hobbiton and felt pressured to make my island actually look like Hobbiton from Lord of the Rings (very colorful with lots of fruit trees and flowers) but slowly I realized that I don't have to limit myself. I started creating different areas and decorating my island how I wanted to (with lots of white flowers and cedar trees). Now, the name "Hobbiton" just represents a lovely, peaceful place for me to relax rather than an image that I feel pressured to uphold.

I'm okay with my island map. But as far as terraforming goes, I keep changing my mind and starting over with it. I haven't created anything I like yet.

Mostly happy, just need to fiddle a bit more with the area around Elvis' house and also my outdoor chill/movie theatre bit and I'll be content.

I am happy with Parts of my island hahahah ;w; I am still working on the rest, but I feel like it's really coming along!! I feel like the most important thing is to realize that AC games have always been about You and not about what other people have and what other people do in their games. It is always nice to get inspo from people's pics online, but it will make you hate your own imagination if you feel like someone else's vision is superior to yours. You don't need the most popular characters just bc they're popular, just ones you love. You don't need to have some elaborate scheme to your island if you don't want to, just cb you saw it on twitter and it got 55k likes lol.

I am.
I feel like New Leaf really gave me a lot of experience to know what to do/what not to do going into New Horizon. Certain things in New Leaf I didn't know about till too late and I had too much done to want to reset over them. Of course, NH made things a lot easier with that since there's more control over changing placements of things, terraforming, and so forth.

I can't say I'm super big on terraforming but, for the little I've done, I'm pretty happy with my map and don't think I'll do too much different.

Not unhappy, just dunno wtf to do with it lol. I think I have an idea for where my villager "city" will be. Also built a mountain/island for my house a while ago:

i'm very happy with my island! and it's still very incomplete haha, but i'm enjoying reworking things, moving things all the time, i recently moved my museum to the beach but i spent all of today making a new area for the museum and it should move there tomorrow

i'm very happy with my villagers too, and even if i start to feel unhappy or uncertain about something i did, i can just change it! and i love that, it helps me to love my island no matter what because i can just change everything basically

i have all the things that i wanted in my map from the start - an airport and town hall / resident services in the right place (although it's not exactly symmetrical, i have come to love the asymmetry and it helps stop me from wanting to make everything symmetrical), i have the red airport, and i've gotten the pointy out grass part towards the top of the island and the secret beach near it too, which makes it perfect to place my house in the corner of the map which i also really wanted to do!

if i really had to complain about something it would be that my pier / dock is the shorter one, but apparently it's easier to spot fish at the end of the pier if you're running past it so i wouldn't even really complain about it lol 😄

I'm very happy with my island. I love the villagers I have and they all get along well with only minimal disagreements. I've only made minor changes to the layout and I was very careful when placing my villagers houses, so I feel no need to move any at this point. I'm choosing to keep my island natural without losing the island feel, so my orchard is spaced out over a large area and flowers are planted in clusters here and there all over the island. My parks and public areas are decorated with a natural feel to them rather than making them look like city areas and, so far, I haven't felt the need to put down paths or roads or even much fencing other than the courtyard around my town square and shops. The only reason I had for paths in NL was the messy grass issues and that's not an issue in NH, so I've left things as they are. I like the feel of running around my island and knowing it feels like an island while still having the amenities that me and my villagers want.

yeah! i made sure to reset for a native fruit that i wanted, and ended up also getting a blue airport and resident services that is centered to the airport which is a bonus! to be honest since you can change almost everything i'm not that concerned with my layout since i know it's not permanent

I would say that I am pretty pleased with my island. The layout for the Resident Services is right in the middle of my bottom middle island and I started out with an idea in my head. After terraforming, I definitely made some changes to the north part of my island cause I wanted to add more cliff areas and water. Overall the island could be a little bigger but this game is great!

Yes! I love mine. I knew how I wanted to terraform my island before I unlocked the system just through those daily "Aahhh, I wish that cliff wasn't there!" moments or what the biggest one for me was: "I need this river GONE." I'm always going in and fixing new things and my island is still a work in progress, but I'm very happy with it so far. I even like all of my villagers- yay!

Yes! I'm very happy with my island, and the main reason is because there's still lots of things to do! I'm taking it slow and appreciating all the empty spaces I have to fill. I can spend lots of time on one area when I have an idea, or just try out things and take it down if it doesn't work!
It gives me time to find new items every day and add things or change some as I go!
I'm also very happy with my villagers and it actually makes me happy to just roam around the island and see what they're up too haha!
