Ok so I thought it was just a random glitch or something maybe because it happened once already but it just happened to me the other day too..

A while ago, Sylvia came over to see my house and she followed me around until I decided to go to my right wing, which is not 'completed' and she didn't show up. Confused, I went back to my main room and then proceeded to go upstairs to which she followed. The same thing happened again with another villager, I forget who. I don't know if it matters but this happened on my side character. It was only one room with both animals.

I've NEVER seen this happen. Is it possible it's part of the update? Before, even when your rooms were small, they always follow you around when you lead them so when you're done they automatically leave.

I've had that happen to me a couple of times, for me it seemed to happen when I walked to fast and they got left behind in another entrance or stuck on furniture. Maybe that was the case for you? Either way it's definitely a thing that can happen!

Yes, I have a room in Cocoplum that is very crowded and no one ever follows me from that room into any of the others. It's as if they get stuck on the furniture. So I do that room last. I don't know if that is your issue, but it is mine. Weird, huh?

This happens to me as well. 2-3 times already. I noticed it only happens when the room is full-- when I don't clean up for a while and have randos blocking the door.

I have it happen to me frequently--usually when they just drop by, but sometimes on planned visits. I do tend to have a very crowded main room. They're more likely to come upstairs/downstairs with me than to side rooms. I just talk to them in the main room a few times, then run into the side rooms and upstairs and downstairs until they decide to leave.

Huh...that's interesting for sure! Thanks guys for the clarification! It definitely could be that due to the crowded stuff in a room. It's just weird that it never happened until now xD I legit thought it was a glitch or something.

That has happened to me too.

You're definitely not alone here. I never gave it much thought since it didn't seem to get the visitor to leave any sooner. If I think about it, I'll test it on one of my towns that do not have the WA update. Ain't Nl just full of Easter eggs and wondersome peculiarities?

So far, I've only seen it happen when a villager visits me randomly instead of planned and they almost always want to leave immediately after I come back to the main room.

^this is normal, when the villagers randomly visit you they'll only hang around in your main room and give you a present if you talk to them enough and leave pretty quickly instead of wanting to see every room in your house.

as for the thread's topic, this has happened to me at least twice so far, after doing some research i believe it's because you didn't talk to the villager enough in the main room and they'll follow you to all rooms but one, and then eventually leave when they've "been over too long". i suggest going back to the main room and talk to them a couple of more times and then go into the room that they wouldn't follow you in (if it happens again). i think that might be why and not because of a glitch.

I have a room in my mayors house where the villagers walk in 50% of the time. It?s determined by the paths the villagers can walk through to get to the next room. It doesn?t happen all the time so it seems IF the villager walking subroutine can perceive a path they will walk into the next room.

It always makes me sad - ?Here is my beautiful house and you won?t walk in all the rooms?!

I've never had this happen to me, because usually I try not to have my rooms too crowded or put things infront of the door. I mean it makes sense why they won't in that case because it's probably not in their programming to try walk into the room if there isn't any space for them to walk around in.
