Anyone else had a lot of campsite villagers?

I haven't seen a camper since the tutorial one and I play and check the campsite everyday. It's really a bummer since I wanna play games with the campers that come over. Hopefully I'll get one soon!

after your first camper go to tom nook in resident services and ask to sell some land, he will then give you new a new plot for a tent. Once you have that tent open and available when you go to the dodo islands with your nmt you should get lots of villagers appearing to invite back, but this only happens if the plot is available and open (not already sold to another villager).
You can do this till 5am when the game resets, if you don't like a villager on an island don't talk to them. I've got really nice villagers this way by just keeping on going again and again.

you won't normally get another camper in your tent unless you have a tent open but I may stand corrected on this

I've been playing since launch and TT pretty often, but I've only had one after the tutorial camper, too.

I have only had three in total since I put up the campsite. I got Chops first and he is now on my island of course, then I had Portia, and the other day I had Sly.
