Anyone else get annoyed by this?

That is all I am trying to say. If any of us find this aspect of the game to be annoying (which the edited post title now indicates, thanks OP!) then that's one thing. But if it goes beyond that and you start to feel angry or infuriated it's time to follow the above advice IMO.
And that's totally fine, but I had an issue with your first comment it came off as rude and you could've just said that to me in the first place and no I wasn't exactly upset I was more just annoyed

Same!! I love finding villagers I want on islands - Also, I loooove Lopez! I had him in New Leaf but he left when I stopped playing for a while ;0;
I had him in NL too! that's how i fell in love with him
i knew i had to have him in NH

you can buy amibos on etsy for cheap! they are not real amibo cards but put on fake cards. still works tho and only, like $4 depending on if u buy the blank cards/coins or the stylized ones

u can also make ur own at home! there are guides on reddit

i never use amiibos or buy villagers. i prefer to find them on the islands. i only have two dreamies so i like to see villagers ive never met before and invite them to my island to get to know them. theres a ton off cute villagers that never get mentioned and i neverr wouldve known they existed unless i went to the random mystery islands!

Yes it's so frustrating! Especially when it takes so long to go to the next island! I kept getting so many mice one night I was island hopping. :(

(Also OP, I'm sorry you had to edit the title because one person was being rude and pedantic about your use of the word "infuriating". It's just a hyperbole..)

I did this with splatoon, got all the amiibos for like 20$.

My first comment (copied below), doesn't seem especially rude to me (given that the OP was calling my favorite game "infuriating"), but YMMV and apparently does.

If it seemed more rude to you or others than a thread calling normal ACNH game play not fun, but instead "infuriating", then my humblest apologies.
Infuriated? No, this is a GAME... a game that I like to play. I am an Animal Crossing fan. I find all mainline Animal Crossing games to be relaxing and soothing, not infuriating in any respect. There's no rule that says I have to go island hopping and looking for rare villagers. I can just stay home and fish if I want to.

And often, that is exactly what I choose to do.

To amplify on my original answer, I really enjoyed island hopping! I don't buy Nook Miles, so maybe that helped. Like everyone I was hoping for Raymond. I saw dozens of animals, some that I liked and many that I really didn't, and then.... I found Ken and asked him to move in. I had forgotten all about Ken! I don't have an amiibo card for him so I haven't seen him since my first ACNL game back in 2013. I think he's pretty cool, so he's a nice substitute for Raymond for me, for the time being. Maybe later on I'll find Raymond and that's fine; meanwhile Ken and I are having fun. :)

First off, you are allowed to feel infuriated, annoyed, or any adjective you want to use. Your feelings are valid and anyone who tells you that you are playing 'the wrong game' or anything else is in the wrong. Please don't feel like you have to change your wording or your feelings because of one random person who gives no care for you.

That being said, I can imagine getting PO'd about it too. I eventually plan to hunt for Static when Shep moves out because I need a cranky and he's one of the only ones I like. I can only imagine how annoyed I'm going to be. NMT take a lot of work to get, so when you are repeatedly let down, yeah, it gets to feelings of annoyance or even anger. You feel like your hard work isn't paying off, and it's not like island hopping is a fast process either.

Actually to be specific I wasn't calling the game infuriating I was calling the RNG of island hopping annoying, two completely separate scenarios here I love ACNH so please don't assume I find the game itself infuriating

Still not understanding why your assuming I called the game infuriating? your comments are unnecessary and rude next time please read the post and comments before you comment, thanks

Jared you've done nothing wrong. I'd stop responding to them and giving it attention. You have the right to your feelings. The rest of us understand you.

I don't know why I keep seeing chicken, lions and anteaters :( I do enjoy island hopping though despite it being tedious, before I island hop I usually have ~100 NMT on hand so give myself a decent shot at finding someone I like.

Actually what I said was "If it seemed more rude to you or others than your post calling normal ACNH game play "infuriating", then my humblest apologies. " (I imagine you would agree that the RNG of island hopping is part of normal game play in ACNH).

Thanks again for correcting your thread title to replace "infuriated" with "annoyed", since that is apparently what you intended to convey.

I think I will stop dealing with the forum for a few hours, since apparently what seem like extremely negative threads (to me) just aren't meant to be as such. Instead I'll go have fun with Ken and my other animals, enjoying my game which is a place of peace, sanity, and trust. I mean, I can put a million bells on the ground and leave it there for a week, and none of the animals will take any of it. I can write nice letters to Hopper and he writes me nice letters back. Life is so much simpler.

Agreed with Spooky here. We understood what you meant, you have nothing to apologize for.

We shouldn't keep derailing the thread, that's for sure.

To contribute, being my primary activities in AC is trading, I have nothing to worry about villager RNG with NMT BUT, I was looking for hybrid islands and had little to no luck. I really rather not buy 3 hybrids for 1 nmt when I could just ransack a hybrid island (which can contain 30ish hybrids or so) then again, if I spent too much NMT I'm better off BUYING the hybrids but that's ehhh.

So I resorted to breeding them LMAO. 'tis a struggle.
