Anyone else find terraforming extremely overwhelming

I thought I was going to find it overwhelming but it's not that bad.
Making a rough draft of what I wanted my rivers to look like helped me out. That way I able to plan around them and see where I wanted everything else to go.
Only working on one area at a time and only doing a bit of terraforming each day (maybe even taking a break for a couple of days) helps as well.

I'm now almost done with terraforming (I still need to add a pond but I'm using that area for flower breeding rn so that's got to wait) and I'm finally moving onto planting trees, bushes, and flowers.

It has been a long but thankfully quite enjoyable process for me.

My best tip is simply to take it slow and try to not stress yourself out too much.
And to watch some island tours if you don't know what to do and need inspiration.

Yea it started out SO overwhelming. But it slowly transitioned to excitement as I started designing stuff out and getting started :D Once you get over that hill it gets a lot easier. Best of luck~
