I don't know if it's just me, but it really seems like there aren't enough tables in the game! I like having some furniture variety but when pretty much all the tables available are just basic wooden tables it's kind of frustrating!

My table list so far:

2x2 tables:
- Natural garden table
- Log round table
- Wooden-block table
- Stone table

1x2 tables:
- Wooden low table
- Iron worktable
- Ironwood low table
- Stall
- Antique console table
- Lecture-hall desk

1x1 tables:
- Wooden end table
- Bunny Day table
- Diner mini table
- Vintage TV tray

Non-tables that I can still place things on:
- Wooden wardrobe
- Log stool
- Wooden-block stool
- Stone stool
- Ironwood chair
- Ironwood kitchenette (which I can't craft since I don't have the ironwood dresser recipe)
- Cardboard box
- Bunny Day stool
- Iron closet
- Serving cart
- Tool cart
- Upright locker
- Wooden block bookshelf

So that adds up to 14 actual tables, most of which are basic wood, plus 13 non-tables that I can put items on. That's 27 total. Meanwhile I have TONS of things that go on top of tables, like easily three times that amount. Maybe this is a normal amount of tables to have available after 3 weeks of playing, but I feel like it really limits my decorating ability.

I have a lack of furniture in general, tbh. I've seen one couch in all my time playing (about 115 or 120 hours)...one single couch. Lol. And, yes...I have very few tables. Mostly the little wood end tables that you learn how to craft fairly early on. Now, I've come across a nice variety of what I would consider "random items"...and I've managed to fill out every room in my house in a manner that I'm happy with, despite the lack of traditional furniture. But, yeah...I've been scratching my head about this. I also wanted to make my one room into a kitchen, but have found myself coming up short with suitable items for that as well.

When I first started there werent many tables at all but now I feel like there are more popping up. I assume theyll show up even more when I upgrade Nooks Cranny.

I've managed to get one real table so far from Nook's cranny that isn't a DIY or something like a cardboard box. I have so many items to put on tables but no tables lol

There’s definitely a lack of tables in game at the moment, in new leaf before the update there were 79 items in game and the update pushed it to 90 not counting the Sanrio tables, the fueki table or splatoon table (8) part of the numbers coming from sets which are missing....

So I know how to make several magical items at this point but god forbid I find out how to make something to put between all of my stuff and the ground

getting DIY stuff is annoying in this game

i have the iron wood cupboards. i use them in my kitchen. the iron wood low table works well for other rooms. I use it as my coffee tables. I want 1x3 and 1x4 wall display shelves!

There may be around 500 furnitures in this game but most of them are small stuff like mounted items (party garland) and paint sets, document stacks and pretty much require a cardboard box to put on. Quantity does not equal quality. The amount of quality items is so low. I mean when you get the same items 3 times (candlestick in jar) at Nook Cranny and you haven't even play for 3 weeks yet, that a huge red flag.

yeah i have noticed a lack of tables, i have so much cute stuff, i guess it'll have to go on the floor

i wish there were more low tables, I can't stand when my table is too high, it just looks awkward

Once you upgrade Nooks I notice there's a ton more expensive variety in the store... So honestly I don't mind waiting.

Oh that good to know cause I literally have not decorated my house interior at all. I have 800 room storage and I have stuff outdoor cause I have no more space. I have 5 rooms right now, one for living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom/laundry, and a hobby room. Problem is I want to furnish my house but I don't have anything for the kitchen other than small appliances and I have yet to get the other crafting recipes for the ironwood kitchenette. Most of my furnitures are small appliances. Hard to imagine that Welcome Amiibo a free update has more furniture than New Horizon. It just blow my mind.

But yeah I'm exactly 7 days behind those who play on release.

VillagerDB lists over 1000 furniture items, not including rugs, posters, or photos.

Having said that, I really hope we get the old furniture back sometime. I miss my minimalist and modern wood sets.

1000 furnitures for this game?!? One thing I'm not sure if when people say the # of furnitures, does that include either A) DIY, B) Furnitures you buy, or C) both of them?

Cause I wonder if DIY count as recipes more than furniture? So say there is 500 furnitures according to dataminer then that doesn't include DIY recipes that also include furnitures. Then 1000 seem correct.

The number includes both types of furniture, DIY and store-bought.
