Anyone else do Seasonal decorations?

i've been heavily, heavily debating this over for the upcoming winter season. my island looks very decent between the summer / fall season, everything messes very nicely because i'm more into an outdoors-y theme. but when it comes to winter, i think i might have to change some stuff up to accommodate that. i saw some really good posts here making suggestions to turn your food stalls / cafe area into a soup location, or something like that, which is honestly something i might end up doing to suit the colder weather better. i have a little pier area with like, a fish and chips area, so i'm still trying to figure out what i'm going to do there.

so, in short, yes. i will be switching things up to match as they become appropriate. i'm actually getting really excited to make little themed areas for specific seasons. c:

For this month I’m trying to go for a Tiki of Terror theme so I can still keep my overall beachy themed island but put a Halloween twist to it 🎃🖤

I do, to some extent! Alot of my decoration areas are general, like a fairground, so that will not change throughout the year. I will, however, put different relevant items around the town for the season it is currently. I had lots of bamboo for spring and I have just now started planting pumpkins around the town for halloween! Mushrooms will come next when they start to appear.

I have a little area for different themes to go so I don't necessarily clear away everything once a season is done, for example I still have some Wedding season stuff out next to my pumpkin patch!

I have one item I switch out depending on the season, in front of the store between the drop-ff box and the decoration next to it. It was a beach ball for summer, now it's a spooky lantern.

no because I am lazy LOL

I try to have at least one area that looks nice in each season though (i.e. I'm using like every bush on my island)
I did add a lot of pumpkins recently, it wasn't really for halloween though so I am turning the spooky items around to make them look like regular pumpkins.

I only switch out some items. I'm not over to overhaul everything. I had this game since late March and I'm slowly developing my island. I thought about having a seasonal areas that I can change more regularlly but I'm not far enough with everything else for that yet

I suppose the demolition of my summer beach shop and the addition of my little pumpkin farm (which is still a work in progress at this point) could count as seasonal decor? I'm not sure what I'll end up doing in winter but I will probably think of something fitting by the time it happens. I'm probably not going to make my entire island seasonal though, I rely on the game's weather mechanics to do that for me :D

I have a goal to do seasonal decorations on my island. I've only done little spaces so far, but I'm really looking forward to decking out my island for spooky season!

For this season I've been doing a large remodel! No terraforming or anything but I've replaced my path designs to be Halloween themed, set pumpkins in front of everyone's doors and just try to add the seasonal touches onto the island without changing it too much itself because decorating is still hard work and the clean up is always something to think about.
It's too much work to decorate the entire island so I just set up an "event area" where I could display my seasonal decor.
That's really smart and makes your island seem like more like a small town community I love it

Ooh, changing the paths is smart! That only involves changing the path in the designer app... I might just change some of my patterns to better fit the season, I've been meaning to improve them anyway! :D

I’m changing my surf boards and beach stuff was put away for hot chocolate stands and halloween

Thanks! That's exactly the kind of vibe that I was going for for my island haha. It kinda works as an extension of the RS since we can't place any decorations in that area. I'll have to borrow that idea of replacing qr designs! I don't know why I never thought of simply replacing paths instead of adding new paths that take up more qr slots lmao.

I change the seasonal shrubs. Other than that, I made a pumpkin patch for Halloween. I am not sure if this will follow suit for the rest though.

Nope. My island isn’t even complete. When I complete it, I don’t think I’ll do that. I am using the frozen set but they are permanent for all seasons. I put out some Halloween furniture and I plan on keeping them out as well unless later on when more furniture is released there is something that fits my design better than what I am using.

The only seasonal thing I’ve started doing is changing out the arch at my entrance since there isn’t really one arch that properly suits my island. So for now I’m just changing it out with the seasons/holidays. For summer I had the shell arch and now I have the Halloween one, though I toned it down by giving it the monochrome customization.

As you seen earlier during that tour I was pretty hard on the Halloween decor haha. I figure it would be a pain to clean up so I did a few minor changes and threw in some pumpkin patches. The right side of my island was empty so I made it specifically for the holiday occasion. I'll decorate accordingly once the holiday is over :)

I've been doing seasonal type stuff since last month. By the time I really got things going, we were well on our way into summer, so I didn't have to ever change anything until September rolled around. And even then, I didn't really change much. Just switched some benches out to some hay beds, and then I added a bunch of decor around the island for a fall aesthetic. A lot of scarecrows, some barrels, bonfires on the beaches, and I switched the red tulips I had next to Nook's store out for yellow mums. Leaf piles all around, and I even had two leaf bonfires (the roasting marshmallows customization) put out with some log stools. Lots of log stuff. Now that we have Halloween, I made a pumpkin patch, even put a couple pumpkin plants by my house, and I put orange tea shrubs at the entrance of the pumpkin patch. I'm going to switch out some stuff for the Spooky things. Then once Halloween is over, the Spooky items will go away and I'll start looking at making the mushroom stuff for November. And then once December comes, I'll most likely just try to make most stuff more wintery looking... plus whatever I can manage to do with new DIY stuff once that all comes too.

To be honest, this is the kind of stuff that I actually want to do on my island. I'm not that great with landscaping really, and making an OH MY GOSH SO PERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL island is out of the question. But decorating? Heck yeah, I'm all about that.
