Anyone else can't decide who to let go?

I have 4 normals and have never had a snooty or a smug in NH! I've gotta let Poppy and Fauna go at some point just to get some variety. I've got Nan and Chevre (pure chance getting them both) and I can't let either of them go because I can't bring myself to separate the two of them... I mean they've got a picture of each other in their houses :P

I'll have to let Bob go at some point too as I've never been crazy about him. He's cute but he's got the basic house with actual dirt for his floor.

I find if I have a duplicate of a personality it becomes apparent fairly quickly which one is my favourite - thus making clear who I'm willing to say goodbye to.

As I've come to the conclusion I can't make a list of permanent dreamies for my island other than Melba and probably Billy, I kinda know who I want to let go, but the hard part is deciding when. I know I need Bubbles gone first and I need to grab a snooty villager (will probably just let one move in randomly unless I happen across a giveaway of one I'd like to try), then next out is Lionel, Melba will boot out Marina, but after that I have no plans except I'm probably keeping Billy, Ursala and maybe Clay. Maybe then I'll just let it be an adventure of whoever shows up! All the better to form friendships with villagers I've never met!

If I like the villager but don't intend to keep them, I'll hold onto them until I get their photo. Then they can go :)

YES! ~The struggle is real, lol. I usually try and get their framed photos first before I let anyone move away, but sometimes you just get too attached. 2 months later & Agnes still lives on my island. She’s nowhere near one of my dreamies, but she always gives me medicine. I don’t know if I would be ok not seeing Agnes everyday.

She calls me, sis! 😭

The pain is real o.o

I’m currently facing a dilemma because I don’t want more than one of a species. Katt is my starter, and I’ve become so fond of her it’s ridiculous. Then there’s Lolly, who is an all time favorite, the perfect Normal imo, and the first villager I encountered on a NMI. Honestly, I was almost upset when I saw her, because I knew it’d put me in an awful spot of having to choose between them eventually.

My partner keeps trying to persuade me not to let either leave—because he’s convinced I’d actually cry and thus force him to adopt them out of sympathy xD

I can understand wanting species variety, but it shouldn't interfere with what makes you truly happy. I think you should keep both and then if/when you get to a point where you think you can bear to be without one, then maybe you can replace them. Or when you find that 11th villager that you really want, weigh how they make you feel against how Katt and Lolly make you feel.

Yeah, I thought I would be fine with Avery leaving and then he asked while I was trying to cycle someone out and...I was not ready. I'm glad I kept him though, cause he gave me his picture a few days later. I think I'll be ready to let him go next time he asks, especially so I can go on a search for Octavian, my best cranky

In my initial island plans I wanted to have 9 permanent villagers and one villager who would have a temporary plot in town so I can always experience new villagers. However, just like almost every AC game I played, I quickly became attached to almost everyone so it‘s hard for me to even decide which one that temporary villager will be. It’s also hard for me to decide who to move out because I’ve already landscaped a huge chunk of my island based around certain villager houses. If one of them moves out it might ruin the little village idea I created, haha. That’s one problem, and another problem is that the ones I definitely want to keep permanently keep asking to move out.

even the villagers i got from island hopping with the intention of trading them for nmts/bells have stayed (i have enough bells and nmts anyway so this really makes it harder). and same! i try to keep the flowers in theme to their color, and the furni outside to their personality or hobbies.

it's the case for most people as well, it seems that the closer you are to the villager, the more they wanna move out.

I had a hard time letting Pancetti go. I got fed up with the low chances of trying to get Renee out (she was my last move in). So after much debate, I let Pancetti go, knowing that there are other snooty villagers who I'd like to also have. I ended up finding Diana though!

I'm afraid it's gonna come to a huge indecision if I get Bunnie in my town once I get Renee out. I love Bunnie so much but if I get her, she'll become my second peppy. I also have two crankies and two lazy villagers, and I don't want to let any of them go to make room for a new uchi. Unless I let Piper go but ugh, I love her so much.

You are me, OP. It’s been two days that the thought bubble keeps jumping from one of my villagers to the next but I can’t seem to decide if it’s time and who will be the first to leave. I want their pictures first before they go but I’m also itching for a new face on the island. I’m not sure what to do.

i feel like our problems (personality repeats, making room for other personalities) would be solved if there is an option to plot/sell more land as long as we don't set up other multiplayer houses/characters, ugh!

Kind of, but since i have 3 peppy villagers in my island i have to kick one of them so i can make a spot for Snooty villager which i don't have

No, I have few with targets in their backs. I like my Louie but his starter house is horrible and gloomy. I found Dom on an excursion but I'm not a fan so he can go whenever he wants to. And finally, Merengue and Skye. Again, both were found on excursions but I always have too many normals, so I'm willing to let them go when the time comes.

Oh, and Beau. He's a firm favourite but I have his amiibo card anyway so next time he asks to leave, I'll let him go and move in Lucky.

So that's half my island. I really only have Fauna and Sherb as my "never leave" residents.

Okay so now that I think about it, it’s possible I’ll probably let Apollo and Carmen go once I have their photos because I summoned them via Amiibo cards but gosh, even that’s difficult ._. I know 15 villagers plots may be overkill to some especially since due to the lack of space on our island, I feel like that’s the only way it could work for me since then I’ll have more room to cycle out villagers I want.

That is unless we have a single building like an apartment building that can house up to multiple villagers.

yes ;_; so many of my favorites are lazies. bob and punchy came from my boyfriend, raddle came from my favorite streamer, and drago is SUCH an ult fave, but.. agghhhh! i cant have anymore lazies!!! and it's so hard to decide which to move out!!! ;_;

the thing about 15 villager plots is that, if they do implement it, it'll be optional. i'd probably will be ok with 12-14. if you want more space for your outdoor diner, spa, or library for aesthetic purposes--it's your choice. personally, i'd sacrifice an orchard to have a house space. but tbh, i know a lot of my friends still have vacant spots on their island. me myself designed my island to be flexible. if you know the game is meant to have a future updates, why would you set it up as permanent you know? even the addition of bushes & redd had me changing parts of my island already!

I really wish we had 15 villager plots, even 12 would be enough for me to not have to narrow it down to the 10 best ones!!

I also have a problem with hoarding the deer villagers, I have Beau and Fauna right now.. and Diana is moving in now too. But Zell is one of my dreamies.. and I also really want Erik... but then I'd have 5 deer and that's way too many lol, I'm trying not to have too many of the same species but it's really difficult for me I guess

i have fauna as well and i scanned diana in for a few days, but in order to not get attached i didn't talk to her as i would move her out (had her adopted now) as i need an uchi--which is fuchsia, also a deer. i can always scan diana in, but then zell is also a dreamie--which my sister is planning on giving to me once he moves out. but i also have 2 smugs. the struggle is REAL. all these deers have great designs!

i'm glad people feel the same way. not everyone can go through villagers this quick and we're barely 3 months in.

also the reason i keep saying this, is because whenever i suggest the more villager plot thing in the future, there are party poopers!!!! you have your opinion, let me have mine. you want your space for your pretend outdoor "restaurant", let me have my space for my villagers.

the suggestion of us wanting more villagers will not affect your game in any way, but you telling me it shouldn't happen affects how i play the game. even now, if you want, you can just be stuck with 8 or 9 villagers. like really, no one is forcing you to invite more.
