Anybody use mail for storage?

I'm keeping the wedding event items in my mail until I have a place to put them and I realized I could actually mail things to myself and keep them there. Such a duh! moment for me. Anybody do that?

Hey... that's a good idea. I completely forgot that you can send mail to yourself.

I don't mail things to myself per sey (dodo dialogue... bleh) but I do order stuff like 5 books or simple panels or whatever most days and keep it in the mailbox until I need it often

I'm thinking it would be nice if the game still had a mail screen to store like 10 or so letters in your pockets. In all the past games I've used letters to store my tools so they don't take up so much room in my pockets. I don't store anything in my mail in NH because it's just such a hassle.

I would do this, but honestly it's a bit cumbersome because you can only mail yourself one thing per day. I'm going to be making additional player characters instead.

That is a good idea! I've already taken my wedding stuff out but i'm working on getting multiples so now i will definitely leave them in there for a while until i decide on my wedding area i want to make

Yes! I am also doing that with my wedding items, but I didn't think about mailing myself some items. I should definitely start doing that because my storage is getting full lol and I have 1,600 slots. 1,600 slots definitely isn't enough. I hope there will be an update where we can get up to 2k slots at least. The storage space wouldn't be a problem if we can place more than 5 orders a day, but since we can't, I tend to hoard stuff for future trades and what not :/ Btw, thanks a lot for the great storage idea!

Oh I didn't think about that! That can't be said of the items you buy from Nook Shopping that come in boxes though

Nope. I saw your method is different than what I expected. I thought maybe you somehow managed to put items back into your mailbox without sending them to yourself through the mailing system.

I didn't think about doing that! To save storage, I usually just keep my ordered items in the box until I decide to use them. The constant beeping is a little annoying, though.
