anybody know a good recording device?

Please help me out,im using one right now, and wen i record it makes the sound all crackly and bad,anybody know a good device? name any one that could be used on a mac please

Actually, only USB or powered audio in/out microphones work with a Mac.

I haven't used them enough to know those things. I've only surfed the internet and messed around with some of the basic programs.
