I buy any streetpass items, i also buy toy hammers or anything your character carries

May I do a slight hijack? Where/how are people getting streetpass items. I get streetpass notifications daily (I commute to work using public transportation) but I have never received a streepass item, even though the alert says "Animal Crossing StreetPass" (or something along those lines).

Yeah like when you walk through gate they are holding stuff sometimes and when you talk to the people youve met they give you what they were holding like balloons and ice cream and stuff
