Hi everyone!

Anyone have any tips for using pikachu? I love using him so much, but he was significantly nerved in SSB4.

I can get percentages up really high, really quick, but I find others beating me first because pikachu's KO ability has been decreased a ton.
And no, I am not "that pikachu user" who spams thunderbolt to try to KO people. I never have been and it doesn't work anymore anyway, lol. Any tips on KO-ing or some general combos that you use would be great c:

Thanks!

I am not really a Pikachu main, but I seen a couple of good combos. You can use a forward throw to forward air combo. It deals about 15% damage. The forward air is also improved from Brawl so it is also good for approaching. You can also spam the B button for approaching as well, but I see you don't like to play that way. Another good combo is to do a down throw and then use up tilt to neutral air. It only works well at low percentages though. A good KO combo would be to use up throw and immediately use thunder. It is good for KOing players over 100% damage. Even though it avoided, most players I seen on For Glory don't know how to dodge it. I'm sure there are other good combos as well, but as I said I am not a Pikachu main.

Thanks so much! I'll try to do more grab combos! I don't usually use them as often as I would like to because Pikachu's grab is one of the shortest ranges out of all the characters, lol. I use forward air a lot, but I think I can start using neutral more often c:

He wasn't nerfed in the Wii U one, only the 3DS one apparently. He is pretty good in Smash Wii U.

Nooo he was pretty nerfed in the WiiU one too. I play both versions on a regular basis and its astonishing how high I have to get people's percentages just to KO them with a smash move.

He's rated better than most characters: http://www.eventhubs.com/tiers/ssb4/ (one source at least)

ZeRo, who is probably the best Smash Wii U player in the world, has said Pikachu is in the higher tiers as well.

Also, he did a video which may help with your original question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKqocfNBmc8

For all you Pikachu mains, you will want to root for Axe in Melee at Apex. Pikachu was one of my mains in Brawl. :)

Ive only started using Pikachu since my brother bought me the amiibo for xmas

he's a good char.

an easy combo to pull off is just a grab and then up throw followed up by a down B
