So I reset one of my cycling towns and after TTing for two months (I've read you don't need to do the town approval, so I was just TTing until someone moved out then gave up and got a 100% approval rate when no one moved then continued cycling) Anyway, I've cycled for 6 months day by day in this town now and no one wants to move. I have 10 villagers, a campsite and a town ordinance in place just in case any of those things affect who moves.

Any idea why no one is moving, or am I just being impatient? ><;;

I've had the same problem, still no one moving it's quite frustrating because it's my main town, my guess is that you might need to pay off the second house payment to the island or be on "speaking terms" with the villagers <-- I have yet to do those two things. Been cycling for 4 months -_-

I had that happen in a town I started just for weeds. Nobody moved out even jumping ahead 30 years. I think you have to talk to the villagers enough to get rid of all of the tutorial messages ("Did you know you can fish and pick up shells to earn Bells?").

It took 10 days for someone to move from my Farmtown just recently. It kind of freaked me out because after a year of playing daily, that had never happened before.

It is indeed frustrating, but I'll try talking to all the villagers and paying off another payment. Thanks for the advice!

That makes sense, I'll try that - thanks! :)

Yeah ; w; I've had the town for ~2 days now and have TT'd 6 in-game months and yet, nothing.

you have to go through all that tutorial talk~
so just spam talk one villager
once he/she mentions about saving your game, you're good to go

Is this another cycling town or are you planning on keeping some villagers..? If it's just a cycling town, next time you manage to get a villager in boxes you might want to consider using Karen's cycling method. It will always put a villager into boxes for you ^^

Woah, I need to subscribe to this for future references - appreciate all the super valuable tips!
Especially the spam talking / talk to all villagers part,
because I usually talk to all the starters and the following 3 moves-in just to get rid of the tutorial dialogues,
(but mostly not for all the following villagers after that)
yet it never occurred to me that it *could* be a crucial factor in this case.

Good to learn something new!
Thank you selcouth for starting this thread! :D

I do use a method similar to that but the problem was I needed to talk to villagers to get rid of the "tutorial" stuff. c:

As far as game mechanics go... Advancing your game by more than a day increases the internal (days played) clock by 1. So increasing it by a month is only going to give you weeds, no extra fossils or gyroids. A villager might move but never more than one and if you were advancing by 2 days per trip would have achieved a similar result(except they usually ask instead of disappear). Also if you don't talk to a villager at all, they tend to be more stubborn about moving. You can also use the PW trick to make them ping you and sometimes that triggers a move conversation. (public works trick being: grab a swimsuit, swim out of reach for 5 minutes, fill all your items with things like bells and tools, swim back and stealthily target the villager you want to ping usually the first one will ping you unless you have a you've been playing too long thing going. If that is the case, talk to one you didn't want to ping, so he can clear the conversation. The next person you run into will ping you for a conversation. If you have items that cant be bought or traded it reduces the conversations they can have with you raising your chances of having a PW or move conversation)
