Oh man, I love this game; my ending gallery is 100% complete. x) I lost -a lot- of sleep playing it with my younger sister, who demanded that I translate everything to our native language since she can't understand English, haha.

If I had to describe HL in one sentence, it'd be 'more than meets the eye' without a shadow of a doubt. :V Certain parts honestly made me cry - not only inside, I mean 'cry' in the literal, 'tears rolling down my face' sense (and it was not caused by sappy romance). Nageki.... BBL.... (sniff) Without spoiling too much, if you're a fan of weird plot twists and dystopian settings, this lovely dating sim should tickle your fancy. 10/10, would recommend.

You're totally right about it being more than meets the eye! Most people are just "Hahaha, birds are funny" until they actually play the game. And, ah, yes, Nageki; he's my favorite. ;w;

There's actually a manga as well if you want to read it. It's 16 chapters long, but it's mostly 4-koma/panel except for the human-form bits at the end of some of the chapters.
While it doesn't quite give the experience the game does, it's still a really great part of the series in its own right, and it's not like it is completely different from the game; it's just more of a look into the silly events of the character's lives (with the exception of chapter 12; which, if you've played the game as well, is utterly heart-breaking despite being adorable.)
