Any good towns for tarantula/scorpion hunting

I know they spawn best in deserted towns. I have worked hard on my town and don't feel like getting rid of everything just to catch two bugs. Does anybody have a good barren town that I could use to hunt.

unfortunately, tarantulas (as far as I know) do not appear while on wifi, so hunting in someone else's town is practically impossible. =(
