have you not noticed all the crazy weather patterns,
no, not really.

the ice caps melting,
I haven't seen them lately, I doubt you have either, and everyone who has has probably made the problem sound 10 times worse that it actually is.

and all of the other stuff that is messed up because of global warming?
No. I'm more worried about the recession atm.

You sir, are an idiot.
Lol no.
You are an idiot. Watch the news, preferably not FOX. The ice caps are melting. When they do melt they will flood most of the low lying areas of the world. Including the coast of the US.

You really are an idiot. Because by saving energy you are also saving money.

You need to open a newspaper or read a book, be less ignorant.

I'm all for saving the Earth, but it's becoming over the top. It's like an obsessive religion! So, when everyone turns off every light in their house, i'm gonna turn on every light in my house and post it on youtube. I'm tired of hearing "save the Earth by using florescent light bulbs that are more expensive and hazardous" or "use vegetable oil instead of fossil fuels".
Wow. You are a fail.

Seriously? Anti-Earth Day? Give me a break, you may be sick of all this "crap" but in reality, this stuff is really happening, have you not noticed all the crazy weather patterns, the ice caps melting, and all of the other stuff that is messed up because of global warming? You sir, are an idiot.
No, you sir, are the idiot for using global warming in the wrong context. You and all of those other twits going on about the ice caps melting.
How did he use it in the wrong context? Global warming is causing the icecaps to melt.
Not really. The earth has been cooling and heating over a period of time, and will continue doing that until the end of time. So maybe it's a little hotter this time around, it'll be cooler sometime soon.

Actually no. The ocean has rose over 8 inches in the past 100 years. This may not seem like a lot but it is. Think how much the ocean covers. Partially this is do to the ice caps melting. But also, when things get hotter they expand. Antarctica is over a mile long in ice. Currently it stand no chance of melting. But in a few 100 years it may. Currently Greenland and the Artic circle stand the most chance of melting. Ice adds up because when melted it expands.

I'm just not one of those people who's gonna change his whole life style because the word hippy is being redesigned as "environmentalist".

Then what purpose did this thread have?
A) To see the response

B) To try and see who was that wrapped up in the environment instead of what's going on in the nations right now.

C) To try and prove a point that people do care more about the Earth than their lives to where they would go out on a limb and change their lifestyle just to *fit in with the new fad.

Fair enough I suppose.

I thought the whole point of fashion was to lose all originality in how you dress. So nothing has really changed with C.

fad, not fashion. Game systems are fads. The newest iPod is a fad. Going Green is a fad. Things that people are doing to fit in.

I don't think "going green" is really a fad. I think it's being treated like one. The more people think it's a fad, the more "rebels" want to have nothing to do with it. I think that "not caring about going green" is the real fad here and it can result in a HUGE economical and environmental downfall.

While you bring up valid points regarding fads, Bacon Boy, I think it's not entirely true... iPods are a fad, sure, but what about portable music players? Game systems may be a fad, but what about interactive entertainment?

Applying the same logic to the environmental issue -- using fluorescent light bulbs may be a fad, but the concept of conserving our natural resources and protecting the environment is not.

within certain ranges... but when you literally go green to where you don't even use oils, or regular light bulbs, personally, I don't think this country can afford it right now. Frankly, buying florescent light bulbs is expensive for me, and money is not something in abundance right now. And I'm not gonna go out and buy vegetable oil fr my car and have it smell weird. I'm good with recycling and not keeping the water running/lights on when I'm not home.

For me, I don't need to "go green" to help my environment.

All poll choices are ******** so I didn't vote. A simple 'Yes' or 'No' would have done it.

Nobody uses vegetable oil in their cars yet... if anything, you're thinking of ethanol, and that doesn't smell weird. We will, however, eventually move to electric cars, but those won't require any special oils and will soon be available at mass-market prices. Fluorescent lightbulbs aren't that expensive, either... but I see your point. Still, the definition of "going green" varies from person to person. There are some who take it to the extreme, sure... but that can be said about anything. Religion, political ideology, etc...
