I decided to make a new thread altogether because it'd make no sense to update it...

Alrighty so, I have a temporary jock villager that I'm using (lol) to get the fire pit. I've probably spend a total of 5 hours trying to get this stupid frog to ping me (Not even for a PWP, but just in general), and he won't do ANYTHING. Okay so after some research and personal experience, apparently it depends on the friendship with the villager...? Is this true? Also, how close do I have to be with him? I use the megaphone trick and whenever I call his name, he gets that freakish scary look instead of waving at me. So, my question is, do I have to become best buds with him to suggest a PWP? I've been trying to boost the friendship level, but he never asks for anything. I'm probably just having a lot of trouble because he's a stupid jock (Which I hate tbh), but he has never pinged me. The only things I've done for him were invite him to my house and deliver a present to him for someone else. He won't suggest a PWP, let alone ask for anything! I almost gave up and began trying to just get rid of him, but he never did. He never pinged either. This is getting annoying... If I have to boost the friendship level, I can't because he won't let me... -_-

Also, I'm 99% sure that I'm doing the PWP suggestion method right, it's just that this dumb stubborn frog needs to become better friends with me..

Id say just try to befriend the villager! You dont have to be best friends or anything. for me, i hated one of my old villagers and i didnt talk to them a lot, so i never got one PWP request from them. It probably wont take too long either, just do what they ask and talk to them a few times in a row each day. Also, one thing i learned is that the last villager you speak to probably wont ping you. try to talk to other villagers before doing the trick, then the jock be the first to ping you. :) hope i helped!

He will need to be pretty good friends with you >.< You'd have to send a lot of letters to him and talk to him a lot everyday. I'm not sure if personality affects how fast some villagers will become good friends with you but it's really just a matter of talking to him a lot, which could take a while :l And also side note, if you ever want to get him out etc., if he is your 10th villager (or you have 9 and he is the 9th atm) he won't ask to move. It is rare and difficult to always get the most recent villager out!

To my knowledge, you don't need to be any kind of friends with the villager from them to suggest a PWP. It's completely random, sometimes you may get multiple suggestions a day and sometimes it may take weeks to get one.

Friendship definitely does not matter. A villager that just moved into my town three days ago that I've only talked to twice suggest a project.

i've never had any issues with the friendship level, but honestly i would cool it a bit and make sure to save often, go to the shops, etc. just to make sure that you're reloading the map often enough (like how on the island you go in and out a few times to refresh it). being friends probably won't hurt, but trying straight for hours will probably get you nowhere w/o reloading! good luck!!!!

friendship isn't related to them suggesting a project, it's related to how often they will ping you though. the trap method helps a lot, but different days it depends. sometimes its who you see first that will ping about the project, and sometimes your trapped villager still won't ping, as it's a specific villager that will ping you for it. these things help and what not but in the end there is no sure way to get a pwp request from any villager.

personally if you want it that badly I would suggest maybe another jock villager. As when that one does request, it may end up being one you didn't even want >.<

I never thought about that before, thank you so much for the advice! I'll try to reload often to see if it helps ~
