are there any animals you like in real life, but dislike how they look in the animal crossing series?

i have a few. it's bound to happen, since there aren't really any animals i dislike in real life. but in animal crossing, one thing that bugs me is horses. i absolutely love horses but their models in animal crossing are just so ugly...it's disappointing, but to be honest, i don't know how else they could've made the horses look. not a lot of people draw cartoon horses on two legs rather than four, like they do with cats or bears, so it's hard to imagine the proportions.

i don't really like the gorillas either. their models look nice, and they actually do look like gorillas, but they're so intimidating. they're definitely not ideal for a cute town, and a lot of people want cute towns. i feel like the faces could have been made a bit better too. violet's really the only gorilla i don't mind, but i'd like her more if her eyes were different.

although i don't dislike them as much as the first two, i'm not the biggest fan of dogs. and unlike the first two, i can see the potential for pretty or cute dog models because we have isabelle and digby, as well as other special dog characters. i think the thing that bothers me most is just the ears?? i feel like if they were a different size or shape they'd be more visually appealing.

I love squirrels, but I hate the design for them! When I first got my game I got Static as a starter (I think), and I ALWAYS thought he was a skunk or something because of how he looked. And it didn't help that he has a green line on his head to his tail, it just makes him look more skunk like xD

For some reason, horse villagers never appealed to me. It must be their tall proportions :P also, it's troubling how tiger villagers seem to always have slightly open mouths.

ehh i mean the cows, chickens, penguins & gorillas are just bleh to me they're so ugly lol and i hate squirrels irl but to me the ones in game are so cute n small i love them

The tigers and the lions. I don't think any of the lions look all that appealing and the tigers are just... meh. They could've been better.

Hamsters and horses. I had Flurry and still have Julian, but their models just... Ugh. No.

You guys complain about the dogs ears. Really? What else do you expect them to be? It looks like a normal dog.

Pigs :( I adore pigs in real life...but for some reason their designs in this game don't appeal to me in the least.
Penguins as well, I love them but in game they just don't walk like a penguin and they're not the most endearing designs for me

I don't like the mice and rabbits/bunnies. I think mice are SUPER cute in real life, but I dislike them so much in the game. Also the bunnies would be a lot cuter if their ears would hang down, I think that'd make them cuter.

Tbh, I like almost all animals in real life (just not spiders, lol). I think in game there's quite some species I don't really like. Another example is the sheep. They're so ugly if you ask me.

I personally think the dogs could had looked better if they had differences.
After all, there are no dogs closer to the look of Isabelle and Digby which make the regular villagers plain recolors of each other.
It can apply to other species, but each dog doesn't seem to have something really unique if compared to the others.

The female gorillas look kinda awkward, perhaps due the fact they're meant to look like actual gorillas.
But, we should not expect curviline female gorillas like Candy Kong from Donkey Kong in that game, right?

I'm not really fond of the sheep and goat villagers, I think they should had looked better.

As for frogs, it can't be helped.
I remember of a dialogue from Stein of Breath of Fire II which he said that frog girls aren't cute.

Yea I don't really like the design of the dog villagers myself either... dogs, as a species, are known for a huge range of appearances (great dane to corgi to shiba), but the dogs all look the same in ACNL. :( I wish they made them have more differences, the only one that really sticks out is Shep who has an Old English Sheepdog look, but otherwise... I'm not a fan. It's a real shame because I love dogs in real life, but maybe that's why I'm so picky with them in AC.

i guess that must be why dogs are so off-putting. whiles cats come in a variety of breeds they tend to be the same size and shape. it's not like that with dogs. they're so diverse that it's hard to assign the whole species to a single model.

of course they look like dogs. i just feel like the ears aren't proportionate to the head. it could just be me though.
and like i said, isabelle and digby's models don't seem to have the same ear problem even though they're both dogs.

also tbh i don't know why you said "you guys" because before you posted this i'm the only one who mentioned dogs lol

Bear cubs...They're so ugly I mean I love the big bears but the cubs...Just no.

i'm kind of the opposite lol, i love bear cubs (otherwise i wouldn't have a town full of them) but the big bears are a bit off-putting. only a tad though, i still like them. i don't know how else they could have made the models look without making it look stranger.

bear cubs and big bears seem to have the same shape, but bear cubs are smaller. i guess i just tend to prefer small villagers over big ones.

I really don't like the way the sheep look in this game. I mean, I'm not a huge "sheep-person" in real life, but they could've been really cute in the game. Instead, they look like a stunted mardi-gras dancer with a sheep head.
