What is the minimum and maximum time villagers will stay at your house when they come to visit? I've had some stay as little as 2 minutes (granted, I only had the single room so there wasn't much to see) to Lolly staying over 15 minutes. Is it a sign of friendship if they hang out for long periods of time? I haven't reached the point where anyone just drops in unannounced yet; they only come by when invited.

I must be doing it wrong. I'm lucky if they stay for more than 15 seconds. :( I once had someone stay about 2 minutes and thought it was a glitch lol

Usually I just stay in the central 1st floor room, so maybe they get bored and leave quickly.

I don't know. Most of them are pretty short, but we're going on half an hour, and Lolly is showing no signs of leaving. Maybe I should make up the spare bed for her. ;)

I don't know about you but usually when you talk to villager while they're visiting,
they mention visiting all the rooms in your house.
Usually for me, they stay a much longer time (probably indefinitely) until you show them all the rooms
in your house atleast once per visit.
If I just stay in the first main room for the duration of their visit, they basically never leave (?。• _ •。`)

I've had Molly stay at my house for over 5 hours and she only left after I showed her one other room.

On the other hand I've had Whitney visit (scheduled) and she only stayed for all of about 5 minutes.

they don't leave unless you show them at least one more room. usually they will instantly leave as soon as you show them every room

Kid Cat visited me today for like 10 seconds before turning right round and leaving. I sat on the sofa as soon as we got in, and immediately he was like "Well, I've been here for a while now, so..."

Wonder what I did to put him off :P

I had shown Lolly the downstairs room and upstairs. Once I finally took her into the empty basement (Nook just finished building it yesterday morning), she decided it was time for her to go.

I'd forgotten that you need to show all rooms, because Eugene and Antonio only stay a moment or so in the first room before leaving. Boys! ;)

The more I talk to them, the longer they stay. The longest visit was about 5 minutes. Of course, you can always start to walk out the front door and they'll take the cue to leave. Anything over 5 minutes would really be pushing my patience.
