Hi. I have been doing Brant Steele Simulators on brantsteele.com (Hunger Games, Survivor, Big Brother, Circle, etc.) and I want to discuss using the villagers who appeared in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Let’s start with relationships. There are 11 different relationship levels: Extreme Hatred, Strong Dislike, Medium Dislike, Mild Dislike, Slight Dislike, Neutral, Slight Bond, Small Bond, Medium Bond, Strong Bond, and Unbreakable. Each of them (except for Neutral) has an option on whether or not you give extra points, up to 9. Based on their compatibility (depending on how different personalities act toward each other, like Lazy villagers usually get along with Peppy and Normal villagers, but may initially conflict with Jock and Snooty villagers, their species, and their Zodiac signs), what’s their estimated “simulator relationship” between every single villager who appeared in New Horizons?

I actually bookmarked this when I saw it. I would've commented on it earlier, but I had other things on my mind, and I forgot about this thread until just hours ago.

I don't much about these "Brant Steele Simulators", even after googling them. I will say, though, that this type of depth is something I've always wanted out of Animal Crossing. It's something I think this series needs, honestly, especially the newer ones, because technical limitations aren't really an excuse anymore to have more nuanced villagers who react and behave in a way that's appropriate for their personality type. I'm not expecting every single one to be fully flesh out characters, but there are workarounds to make each one feel distinct in a way that isn't a simple cosmetic difference.

It's not surprising this thread hasn't garnered much noise. These last several months here have been... pretty turbulent. Still, even before all of that, topics such as this one generally don't really see a lot of attention, because even though it has less to do with the actual games themselves, I'd still root for something like this to be put into practice as a feature or mechanic. The reason I joined this forum in the first place is to talk about Animal Crossing and how it can always improve itself. I suspect that's what most of us came here for.

So, does that mean I have to keep their relationships neutral and not permanent for now?
