Buying And Trading Tasty Cakes!

I'm struggling to figure out how I need to configure my cakes so that my apple is in the middle of the top row...

Here is what I have to work with - do I need to buy more from 11/20 or do I need to buy more recent ones?

I think you need more from November 20. The apple was purchased on November 21, so any newer dates will push the apple even further back.
