Am stuck at 4 stars

Really Isabelle? You want more furniture and fences?!! At this point I am putting random fences chairs and campfires all over in pursuit of Jacobs ladders. Holy crap. My island looks like a dump! She’s still not happy.

What do I do? Will bigger more expensive furniture be better?

I have so much furniture out and so many flowers and a good amount of trees and she keeps yelling at me about putting up damn fences. I'm stuck at 3 stars. I think she just reaaaaaallllllly likes fences

I hit 5 stars without TT or really destroying my island aesthetic. Keys are:

tons of flowers - I dug up 3 or 4 islands of flowers and brought them all back
lots of trees
lots of items crafted and placed such as fences
(one easy way to increase fences is just throw them all on a back cliff face that you barely ever use)
a good number of inclines and bridges
some major projects such as a fountain help too.

I also stuck at 4 stars and Isabelle tells me all the time that I have too many trees? Like, never ever does my island have too many trees, I heard you can have around 200-220 trees (correct me if I'm wrong) and I'm pretty sure I'm under that amount, as I just removed a good amount the last three days while redesigning the island. She also tells me to do more decoration and using fences, but I already have so many fences? I don't wanna place more of those, it would look otherwise ugly and overloaded.

Not sure if using more expensive furniture would help, I also work on the decoration right now in hope that Isabelle says something good about it for once instead of telling me for the 100th time that the island need more.

I put fencing for each villager and water breakers all over my north western/eastern beaches and that did the trick. Isabelle will tell you exactly what you need to do.

the first time i checked with isabelle she said i had four stars and that i needed more furniture on the right side of the island, i literally put down like one elephant slide and a hose reel and i got five stars lol

nook's doesn't need to be upgraded. you also need the able's store if you don't have it

No I have that one. I don`t know why she mentioned it, maybe its not needed, but helps a lot? I`ll probably hit 5 stars when I start landscaping the northside of my Island more, it has been neglected because I wanted to do the south part first. I have a lot of furniture, fences, trees and flowers already, so I figure I can`t be that far off. But thank you for thinking along.

i was able to get 5 stars yesterday without it being upgraded.
i've had enough trees, flowers, fences (each house or building has one, even parks) and furniture outside... what helped was having less than 15 "trash" items lying around outside.

I’m at 4 stars currently.
Isabelle tells me I need to place more items that’s I’ve crafted so maybe that would help you too.
To get from 3 to 4 I added a fountain so I think the Nook Mile reward recipes add a lot to your score too

i was able to get 5 stars yesterday without it being upgraded.
i've had enough trees, flowers, fences (each house or building has one, even parks) and furniture outside... what helped was having less than 15 "trash" items lying around outside.

I do have all that, every house has fencing, including little seating areas and an orchard and 3 flower gardens. I think I might need more big furniture the entire northern area is quite empty and I did remove some bridges in favor of landmasses in the rivers because it didn`t work out aesthetically.

I have gotten this as well, where she says you need more stores when I already have everything available. It came up often enough I googled it and it seems common. People think the game is basically foreshadowing future store add ons in future updates.

I found that if I kept asking her a bit later she moves onto other tasks. So did other people who reported in on different threads, forums.

I was able to get 5 stars without really trying to. Kinda disappointed it was so easy for me :/

I seemed to hit 5 stars the day after I added a ton of fencing for scenery! Not sure why fencing is so important but if Isabelle wants it I'd just follow her advice. Make sure there isn't any garbage/dropped items on the floor as well!

Isabelle also told me that I need more furniture on my island. So I crafted more than 100 bamboo candleholders and put them all at the back of my island to get the 5 stars

I'm at the same point too and I'm so sick of dumping furniture everywhere too. I really want my town to have a more civilized side and a more natural side and it's so frustrating so I feel you! I'm trying to buy/craft more Nook Miles items since they seem to be valued a little higher than random furniture.
