so from the first day i play ACNL, i always play in 3d. and whenever i try to play in 2d my eyes just end up hurting or something and i have to switch back to 3d. i know it sounds weird lol

It's probably the opposite for most people. Ever since I got the 3ds I've used the 3d function maybe twice and turned it off almost immediately because I got too dizzy.

I never use 3D, it's too hard just to be in the perfect spot just to see it well.

and neither make my eyes hurt

When I first got the 3DS I did try out the 3D option on some games (namely Pokemon Y), but not for long. Just a few minutes and my eyes hurt really bad... I'm assuming it's something your eyes just get used to or you have to gradually go up in 3Dness (I just put it at the top the times I remember). I know in Pokemon Y it really lagged the game with the 3D on, so that was another thing I didn't like about it.

I'm not sure how Animal Crossing New Leaf is like with 3D. Not sure I even tried it on that game after my experience with Pokemon's 3D.

Well i couldn't use the 3d because i use to wear glasses and wearing glasses and using 3d quickly strains your eyes. I now wear contacts but i got so used to being without the 3d i just never use it at all.

I've used the 3d on my ds maybe once in the entire time I've had it. My eyes are not so great, and I don't usually get eye strain easily, but the 3ds is almost instant-strain. lol

I love 3D because it makes the graphics more crisp. You eventually get used to the eye strain.

A 2D screen hurting your eyes seems pretty weird though

I'd agree it's unusual that the 2D strains your eyes *shrug*
The 3D is fine for me and looks nice when the DS is perfectly positioned - otherwise it just keeps blurring in and out of focus, which makes me slightly nauseated after a while

When I first got my 3ds I used the 3d function for a few days while playing Ocarina of Time but then it started giving me headaches and making my eyes hurt so I only ever use 2d now. I'm amazed that you prefer the opposite honestly lol, how do you play other game systems??

I love using the 3D! It isn't that 2D hurts my eyes, I just prefer the look of the game in 3D. I think I enjoyed the novelty when I first got the 3DS and my eyes got used to it, now I hate playing in anything but.

am i like the only one who has no problem with the 3d? mind you i wear glasses too. for the other games i play on 3d too without any problems. i think because my eyes are so used to 3d on ACNL they just get uncomfortable when its turned to 2d? idk..but im surprised majority dont play in 3d O.O

I don't see why you would find 2D uncomfortable as that's what most other screens are. I find the 3D in Animal Crossing helps with depth perception for catching bugs but usually I don't bother with it. 3D in most other games such as Mario Kart 7 will always be on for myself, unless I'm in a car or something - it just makes the experience so much more immersive!

its the opposite for me and i suppose the majority of people with agree with me. or perhaps not ^-^:: i havent got myself a job yet and i only arrived here a bit ago but once i have one i may save up for a new 2ds ... although ill have to prioritize bills of course ... i find the 3d an unnesscary feature if i am being truthful

So... why not just play without 3D enabled? I don't really understand this "2D is a feature" mentality - it's like buying a DVD player to play DVDs when you already have a Blu-Ray player which can do both.
I talk about this sometimes irl because they are pushing new 2ds so hard with its thing being "play a huge library of games in 2d! It not like you can do that with a 3ds!" But I mostly don't do it because its 1. Weird in cases of me playing rythem games ( harmonknight ) and 2. I don't own a new 3ds ( yet kekekek ) and so it's hard to get it perfectly. but it is cool to play Acnl in it or beat the final boss(es) in Kirby planet robobot along with earbuds :)
