lmao i mean obviously there are villagers i like more than others and if someone wants to give me a villager i love then i will graciously accept but the concept of having an ideal set of villagers in ur town is so alien to me
part of the reason i love this game is the dumb ugly horrible villagers i have 2 put up with from time 2 time
idk maybe thats just me

Nope, you're not the only one. I don't have a dreamie list, and I want to keep most of my villagers coming and going to experience a lot of them. Though I do have favorites in my town, especially Beau and Katt, who I am not letting move anytime soon.
I first thought that about Fang too, but he's just asking too much to leave, and I think I will be fine with it the next time time he asks.
First Anabelle is moving away, ugh, I've wanted her to move out for so long already >.< Happy that she's finally going.

I totally agree. It's true that sometimes I don't get along with all of my villagers, but that's okay- it makes the game feel more authentic to me. :)

exactly!!!!!! i get my kicks from hitting ugly ones with nets how could i do that if i loved all my villagers

Yes, I agree. There are a ton of villagers that I'd love to have in my town but part of what makes the game fun for me is villagers coming and going. Just having the same villagers in your town forever just doesn't seem that interesting to me.

It's fine to not have any, I just do because I didn't want to deal with whenever someone moves in, they just plant their plot wherever and ruin the path. And it just gets dull to me when I have to plot reset so many times to get them in a good place. Plus, I've pretty much grown attached to all of my villagers. vOv If I had another game I might play around with it, but even then I'm getting ideas of who I'd want to stay in them. It just gives me a sense of satisfaction.

Point is: play how you want since it's your town.

I didn't have a full blown dreamie list to be honest. The first time I got to ten villagers, they were everyone who started my town and the first camper I had move in. I loved them all and then I started letting some go and getting others when I saw they were being given away.

The only dreamies I specifically had were Bunnie and Rod because I had them before in previous games and I wanted them again.

ya animal crossing has an ever-changing dynamic to it i feel like it would get dull quickly if it remained static
but hey ho each 2 their own
u can take ur dianas and marshals i will continue plotting boone's downfall with a twinkle in my tired eyes

I didn't care who I had until they kept putting their houses in the worst places possible, and refusing to move out... and I'm too lazy to keep plot resetting for people's unwanted reject villagers that decided to move to my town because of trading/streetpass
and I can always go to dream villages and whack the ugly ones there lolol

I personally feel that (my) game experience is better with dreamies, but it's whatever floats your boat i guess XD

No, I know some people who think dreamies are pointless. I'd probably not have dreamies, however I have them because otherwise villagers are constantly moving onto my path and crushing my hybrids ect.
It's down to your own opinion really.

I started out not caring about NPCs, but the randomness of house placements/villager is just so stressful for me.

So I pretty much agree with what Nammie and Yui Z--acquiring dreamies is a way to have a stable, organized town. Dreamie are useful when you do a lot of trades/turn on streetpass--you're liable to get a surprise unwanted villager anytime.

Although my dream is to eventually place pwp so that villagers are forced into their designated spots. When that day comes, I'll probably end up playing the game "normally" in real time.

I think there are too many possible villagers that I'd like to have as dreamies. I don't know if I could pick just 9. So right now I only have a few "favourites" and not actual dreamies.

I never even knew what dreamies were until I started looking at animal crossing tumblrs. And the whole concept of resetting and cycling and ??? I don't understand omg. I'd probably try to reset until I got a dreamie and then something would go horribly wrong and I would find my whole town in flames or something idk man I just hit all the uggos with nets and aggressively ignore them. 8)

I do play favorites though hardcore. Lookin' at you cute lil' Melba and Katt and Soleil.

I didn't have dreamies, per say...But I did want an all squirrel town. It just happened that most of my favorite villagers were squirrels. I started with Blaire, then got Poppy & Caroline & then it just snowballed from there. Ruby's just the little oddball in my town, being the only rabbit...
