Am I the only feeling like Gaming is getting boring these days?

I personally find this comment a bit targeted… I’m not scrolling or playing games excessively I’m just living life. have you thought that people might be getting bored or unmotivated with videogames because they have other stuff to do or that their mental health is bad. It’s not just scrolling that is causing boredom with videogames. For me personally it’s the lack of new exciting games, that I want to play none of them seem interesting to me… -.-
It definitely wasn't targeted. I didn't reply to anyone in particular, and I was just sharing my general opinions on the topic. If you took it personally, that was not my intention and sadly there is nothing I can do about it, but I'm sorry you felt targeted regardless.

For me, it's hard to be excited when gaming is becoming so expensive. 500+ for the switch 2, 80+ dollars for the games. In this economy, we're drowning. What used to be a "sometimes" expensive hobby is becoming almost unmanageable, which is why I think a lot of people are struggling mentally with gaming. I don't know that I consider it -boring- persay, but def hard to get excited about.

I think for a lot of us, we also have 'competitive' brain with a lot of games and I think that creates burn out super fast and makes things feel boring or dreaded? I don't know, that might just be me. :3

There are games I'm for sure excited about, but not like I might have been a few years ago.

I’m currently looking forward to the release of Pokémon Legends AZ and Shantae: Risky Revolution. I’m also saving up to buy a Switch 2 and hopefully there will be a new bundle other than the Mario Kart which I don’t want since I’m not really into racing games. Mario Kart is perfectly fine to play with a bunch of friends but I mostly play solo and the game just doesn’t feel as fun. Same goes with Mario Party. Super Mario Party is pretty much the only game in the series that I actually have fun playing by myself.

I don't think gaming is boring perse, but I agree that it's hard to want to buy new consoles and games when they're so expensive, especially in the economy we're stuck in today. There's no Switch 2 game that remotely interests me besides Tomodachi Life, but even then I still wouldn't buy it. As much as I enjoyed New Horizons and Tears of the Kingdom, I was disappointed with certain aspects of them and hoped that the future of Nintendo would be better... :cautious:

Personally, gaming was much more exciting as a kid than it is now. I was discovering new games left and right, I was so excited to get home from school to play on my Wii. Nowadays, I struggle to even pick up a game (mostly due to mental health issues and time constraints). I have all the games I want now, it's just a matter of getting the motivation to play them.

I prefer older games anyway, so I'll stick to those. Not to mention that I have a ton of games to beat.

My main reason for wanting to buy a Switch 2 within the first year of release is to play Wind Waker and other GameCube games as it’s the one of two Nintendo consoles I’ve never got to play very much of with the Wii U being the one I’ve never even tried out. I was out of high school when the GC was at its peak and didn’t have any friends that had a GC and I didn’t have the money or an apartment of my own to get one. And now the games for the console are way too expensive for me which is very strange as you can easily get a working GC for under $80 on eBay and Facebook with controllers but a game will cost you $80 just for the disk. I have wanted to play WW for years but didn’t see the point of getting a Wii U just to play the game and I didn’t have enough money at the time to buy a GameCube, memory card, and the game itself from the retro gaming store.
