Once upon a time, i didn't even know what "bumping old threads" meant. Oh my gosh, I was in so much trouble.
Do you seriously get a warning for that? Why do people make such a big god d**n deal out of that, if the thread is no longer relevant then just delete it, I don't get it. I think some mods just have a god-complex or something, but idk, I've only gotten a warning once and it was quite legitimate(posting names of DA artists who draw risque things XD).

Yes, that's something I was always curious about. I'll have you know, though, that the mods here are wayyy more chill than other websites I've been on. Also, the attitude towards bumping isn't nearly as dramatic as other places.

On a forum for an MMORPG I was on, mods banned people left and right just for bumping. Power abuse much?

After about what, ten accounts on Animal Crossing Community? You get used to it. A bit mad they banned me after I donated ?5 so I could change my signature blue

Well, if you're worried about receiving a warning then you should try be careful about what you post, then you will feel better once you know you're on the right track, and respecting others.

I was on ACC and stood up for a member who was being bullied, quite badly, for starting a discussion about TTing. They were young and their post was clear in it's meaning, but many members took it the wrong way and were just plain nasty. I reported the posts and then was told "bullying is a part of life and especially on the internet" blah blah blah etc and the bullies were let away with it.

Then a member told me I was stupid for buying the Prima guide because I might damage it by dropping it down the toilet(?) even though at the time, I only had internet when I went home on weekends and so the book was indispensible and when I thanked her for her concern (she was 11 so I let it go) but that I was unlikely to drop it down the toilet (at 27, I think I've mastered bathroom time!) and would still be buying it, I got a warning for being rude to members! Cheek! So I sent them a message back that was none too pleasant that I thought it was shocking that they were condoning bullying, especially towards their youngest members and all the rest. Then I changed my email address to one that didn't exist, this triggered a password change and I've never been back since as it instantly rendered my account inactive.

Then I came here and every time I logged in I was paranoid because I had got warnings before for being nice and didn't want it ot happen again. Turns out this forum is run by actual nice humans and not power hungry weirdos. Oh and I use a different username here so it wasn't obvious!

tbh i think being banned for bumping a thread is a stupid thread, but honestly, necroposting is one of the most annoying things on a forum in my eyes.

like the amount of AC threads i've seen get bumped, where the OP hasn't even been active for like a month or two like?? aint that common sense to check OP's? And that's the whole point, the majority of threads are bumped because members don't check the OP's and it's considered spamming. Plus if a thread has already been answered and has gone past it's used-by date then why bump it up again? Its just adding something pointless to the thread and I don't think it's needed.

And the answer I want to know is what the hell is someone doing looking that far back into a board?? if theyre looking on like page 57538 of a board then what's stopping them from doing that in every other board and then bumping other threads??

idk i just find it irit lol

If you have done nothing wrong, than you shouldn't feel paranoid.

Life is too short for people to care about this stuff.
