am I experiencing joycon drift?

i've experienced joycon drifts before but i whenever i do i just go to calibrate the joycon sticks and not do anything at all and just tstay at the screen for a few secs and it fixes itself.

that happens sometimes to me too. I didn’t know it was joycon drift. Now I’m worried about it getting worse.
You can live with it for a while if it’s minor but it’s definitely going to get worse. Mine started with just a little drift towards the left but after a few months it became difficult to use like it’s trying to resist every time I go right.

The same thing happened to me a few months ago(my character kept randomly moving when I wasn't touching the joycon) on my blue joycon, and it was SOOO annoying, I tried taking alcohol and a q-tip and swabbing under it but it only helped for a short amount of time. Sadly I didn't fix it and I ended up getting a used joycon at GameStop. If any methods don't work I would getting a used one, they were only $30. Hopfully this helps :)!

that happened to me a few months ago back in May-ish. It started with my left joystick tilted upwards a bit so that I'd have to press it a little firmly if I wanted to run downwards (which is most of the time since I put my rep's house in the top left corner of the map). It started getting to the point that my character would keep walking upwards even if I wasn't touching the switch which made touch trades, fishing, bug catching, and terraforming really hard to do. And then eventually I couldn't move my character down at all so I put the game down for a while and ended up buying a new left joycon. It really sucks but I'm hoping to get my old L joycon (the cyan one) fixed by nintendo for free since I don't need it for the time being, and that way I'll have 2 just in case.

Omg this thread is making me nervous. I have a Switch Lite, does that also get drift? Can you only send it in for free repairs if you're in the U.S. or Canada? And getting it repaired wouldn't affect your data on it would it?

I hope this issue isn't as common as it sounds, I don't want to be losing my Switch early or shelling out big bucks to fix it, it was already big bucks :(

That sounds exactly like how mine started out. I used them as long as I could until it got so bad that it was hard to play games like Splatoon. Instead of buying new joy cons, I bought a pro controller and haven't had any issues so far.

Mine is getting worse. My character just walked into another room of her house all by herself.it was creepy how she was moving without me controlling her
