If you want something a bit more unique, you could name your characters after some forest gods. For example:
Medeina, goddess of forests, trees and animals, from Baltic mythology
Artemis, who is often associated with wild animals and the wilderness, from Greek mythology
Chloris, goddess of flowers, also from Greek mythology
Tapio, god and ruler of the forests, from Finnish mythology
Mlande-Ava, goddess of the earth (you could shorten it to Ava)
Idun, who guarded the apples that kept the gods eternally young (this could be interesting if your native fruit was apples), from Norse mythology
These are just a few I found on Wikipedia. I'm sure you can find others.
You could also name the characters after forest-y characters from other games, if you understand what I mean. For example, Pino or Leilah from Fantasy Life.
