Alright. Blue Roses.

Orientation doesn't matter when breeding. As long as 2 flowers are next to each other, the hybrid spawn rate is no different vertical, horizontal, or vertical.

Even in a checker board - the game will just choose pairs of flowers from it, no different than if the pairs were isolated. Although the check pattern does mean there are multiple pairs the game could choose, and they are hidden in the mix.

I've literally breed hundreds.

The hybrid reds come from an orange rose that has red and yellow parents, and a purple rose that has two white parents.

Keep the reds that spawn from the orange and purple, then plant those.

If any other reds or orange spawn, take them out of the mix.

Only use the hybrid reds explained above.

It does take ages, so patience plus TT helps.
