i think this clearly demonstrates my purpose: any villager is a good villager if you like them enough. a villager is not simply "good" because they are generally popular among the animal crossing fanbase.

If Nintendo ever made a plushie out of her I am obligated to buy it. I have to. I don't know how to make physical stuff, like crochet or stuffed animals, so I can't make one myself. Yet. Maybe one day.
I mean all villagers share a personality with other ones, so naturally people are going to be drawn towards their favorite designs, if that goes along with popularity or not. No villager is technically good or bad, it’s just other people’s opinions on their design / personal attachment.
I don’t really care about villagers being equally loved or whatever, they’re pixels. I think it’s better just to not insult people’s favorite villagers to their face or to be rude¯\_(ツ)_/¯
honestly it’s really fun to argue about tiering villagers and if they’re ugly or not, imo. it’s just fun, every fandom ranks characters in a way
Everyone has their own tastes, but I feel most of the villagers in the game do not appeal to a lot of people which leads to a handful of villagers being insanely popular. It would be more interesting if every villager had a unique backstory and dialogue so looks wouldn't play such a big role. How hard can it be to give villagers unique dialogue when they gave Pascal a ton of random phrases for when you give him a scallop?
tbh i’d rather see people getting villagers because they’re popular rather than not getting popular villagers just to be not like other girls
but yeah i completely agree, any villager you think is “good” is good. trust yourself and let yourself love whatever you want to love regardless of the social ranks lmao
I agree I think it’s base on our own personal taste which is not necessary need to be the same as what most people like. So I would go for choose the villagers you like than following what is popular.
