The new movie, obviously. Anyway, has anyone else here seen it yet? Andrew and I saw it today (unfortunately not in 3D... We were going to see it in IMAX 3D, but the tickets were all sold out...), and it was really good. ^^ So...discuss!
Oh, also... It's not the same Alice in Wonderland that you're used to. It takes place 13 years after the two books, and is basically inspired by both of them, but isn't retelling them. It's a completely different story, just with familiar themes and characters.
My cousin and I have been wanting to watch it. My friends said the commercial looked creepy but this seems like the kind of Alice of Wonderland movie I wanna watch.
I saw it at the midnight premier and thought it was a good movie, but not a great one. It was moderately funny and had interesting characters, but the plot was a bit lacking. Could've done without 3D, too. It kind of seemed tacked on. In half the scenes you couldn't tell there was even any 3D.
I'd still recommend it. Helena Bonham Carter was amazing as the Red Queen. She definitely stole the show.
No, it takes place 13 years after the events of the book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and takes elements from both it and its sequel, Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There.
Yes. Well, I haven't read either of the books or watched any of the other movies myself, but from what I've read online (Wikipedia, plot summaries, etc.), and from the hints in the movie, yes.
