Ask someone in the Train Station section of this forum. You can go to someone who has 10 villagers(capacity) to clear your void.

I think if you pass a certain amount of people via street pass it might clear but if you need a town to clear your void, before picking up Fauna you can stop by my main town to clear it ^u^

Yes. Me and my mom are constantly exchanging villagers from our voids because we forget to turn off our wifi. You can also clear your void by TT'ing. The villager doesn't stay in your void for forever. After a while they just disappear.

There was a thread on here a few days ago where the OP had someone pick up an old voided villager of hers from a town that no longer exists because she'd restarted since. Even after the game was reset there was still stuff in the void!
Seriously sooner or later I am going to put together a copypasta about this providing links to the numerous threads.

tl;dr You cannot clear the void by any means short of completely reformatting both the game and the 3DS.

I'm not sure how credible that story is. You shouldn't go by what a few say, go by what the majority of people say. I've reset many times and my mom has NEVER received a villager from an old town of mine. Also, if I visit her after TT'ing for a while she won't receive any of my voided villagers either. I'm talking from experience here. Going to someone's town when they've got 10 villagers(the cap) or TT'ing for a while usually works for me and many others.

Oh ok. But the only reason I can't keep clearing my void is because I only have one copy of acnl.
