AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHH!

Back when I started my main town I didn't even know what an ideal map was like and whatsoever. I worked around it instead. Even close to all my villagers now are not the original few when I started off.

if you could pick how your town started out that would take the fun out of searching for cool villagers.

Smugs and Uchis can't be starters, either (I think).

Also, resetting for 1 day? That's cute. I know people who reset for months on end trying to get a good map.

This.

OP should stop whining and get back to resetting.

I wouldn't make a thread about my frustations. If I were you, I'd just focus on resetting. And the thread's title is too damn long.

What matters most is layout. You can get all the fruit and villagers later.

I tried resetting for ages to get a good map. In the end I got annoyed and just decided to settle for the first map the next time round, without looking at any of the rest.

I still have this map to this day, and have quite enjoyed working around its flaws. And the random move in villagers that I have got have been very lucky.

I will never know what I could have had, and I'm glad c:

I've spent over 72 hours trying to find the perfect map. The way I judge it is by:
Villagers: Must have at least 2 tier 1 villagers (So I can sell them for bells to fund ordinances/Necessary WPs).
Grass:
Circle: +1
Square: -1
Triangle: Neutral

Train/Town Hall roof:
Red: +1
Blue: Neutral
Others: -1

Fruit:
Apples: +1
Pears/Oranges: -1
Peaches: Neutral

Math:
Must have at least 3 points to consider keeping
Neutral + Neutral = +1

I guess I'm pretty picky? I don't know.

When I reset I spent about 3hrs ... since in my old town I always did permium's and turnip spikes and selling so re-tail HAD to be close to the trainstation... and every map I got it was across the world. XP
The one I decided on, I'm still getting use to.
I'm happy re-tail is close...
I didn't get ANY of my dreamies from the start... but that's ok since first move in was a Smug and I got Julian. =3
I also got apples... didn't want apples... Since cycle town has apples... but oh well, once I get a bunch of undesirable villagers in it, I'll reset it. XP
But I got the train traveling left to right and the brown roof ... makes me happy.
Cycle town travels right to left and a green roof... I hate it. >.<

Sometimes you guys have to compromise... Instead of being insanely specific, do something like Cold did and have a few opinions that you would be "ok" with so the process won't be so bad. =3

I was too excited to play when I first got the game, so I just chose the first map without looking at the others. The map's not bad, really. I'm not going to reset for a new layout and such, I'm way too far for any of that. Maybe if I ever pick up another copy from a resale shop, I'll be a little bit more picky with the maps, but I don't care for a specific fruit or villagers.

Some of you people should consider lowering your standards (not that I care :p).

If it's taking that long, I'd try to compromise with the game.

Focus on the elements that you can't change, aka the town map and the local fruit, and just settle for at least than ONE dreamie if all the other requirements are met.

i resetted for 2 days, finally got a near perfect map with ribbot, static so dont give up, it was the best descision i made.
