Flynt (the "Hustler" guy) and Francis (the "Girls Gone Wild" dude) are asking the government for a $5 billion bailout, claiming the entertainment industry has taken a huge shot to the face because of the downturn -- citing the fact that DVD sales are down 22% from a year ago.
Only in the United States....

The industry died when internet video sites became popular, if you know what I mean...

ummm yeah everyone is doing worse right now... but the gov should only help industries central to advancement and central to supporting other industries... sadly porn is not one of them.... the financial institutions, alright they are needed to keep people able to make businesses, auto less needed however, car improvement is needed in the future, transportation is always needed, and it supports the entire state of Michigan...

It is just a difficult time and not everyone should get something, in fact it might have been stupid to give anyone anything. I hope these guys are doing it just to prove a point of how ridiculous companies are for begging the government for money.

or... the government should be smart about it and use it to their advantage.

for example, don't bail out the auto industry UNLESS you force them to only produce environmentally friendly autos. SUVs and hummers were absolutely NEVER cool in my book.

If it were so simple, I'm sure it would already be done...
