I have been seeing, even pondering myself "Should i restart my town" "what else is there?" "i'm bored of ACNL now how can i get unbored?".
Well i may have a answer for you, its gonna sound a little obvious, Make a new character. Yes, you heard me, make a new character. Of course you can't name it a long name like Charlotte (fricken Nintendo -.-) or the same name your Mayor is named but i can tell you it helps. They treat you like you first began. You can probably unlock lots more stuff, or even just going over the fish, bugs etc that you caught before because believe it or not Animal Crossing is about the achievements and collecting things when things complete, that amazing feeling of wanting to play goes away. The best part is the animals treat you differently to the mayor, i got a birthday invite from Tia and it was like something you'd send to a friend inrl (in real), it was sooo cute. You have to go through the tutorial stuff, the seashell, Isabelle giving you fruit her town fruit (which i completely skipped over until now). You will basically experience something old but its new. It may open your eyes and you may be aware of things in another point of view. No i'm not on drugs. I suggest you just try it. If it doesn't work out for you then fair enough, you tried. I just thought i'd spread a little hope out there. Instead of making the mistake of restarting your town cause believe me i did that in WW and it changed everything...

Good luck!

Except not everyone wants a second character... I don't want anyone other than Belle in Pripyat, but I have 2 characters in my second town. I don't want anyone else there, either.

That's true, i didn't think of that. I also wanted to do that but then i heard animals treat you differently so i thought i would try it out.

I do recommend this. That's why I have three alternate characters. B))))

I mean if you don't want one you don't have to make one, no one's forcing you to... But it is a lot of fun designing different houses and deciding who this new character will be.

Yes exactly :3 i guess i must of come off as pushy, i just like trying to help people ^=^

I run two towns with totally different villagers and totally different ways of decorating. That keeps it kind of fresh for me. I can mess around with my developed down, then chip away at the one I'm still working on.

I didn't think it was pushy, I do think it's a good idea. It might not be for everyone but I think it's a good idea to try this if you get the resetting bug lol

I don't think you came across as pushy. I mean, it's not like you can force anyone to do anything against their will. :) Creating extra people is a way to keep the game fresh, but it's not for everyone.

Charli, you could never be pushy. You are a doll :) and it's a very positive and helpful suggestion. Good for you spreading your hopeful rays of sunshine around. Thank you ^__^

I think this is great advice. I always try to advice people against resetting (unless they really want to of course) bc I feel like if you can't work with what you have you'll always be unhappy with your town. There are all sorts of creative ways to change things or make it new, and this a good example of one.

Not gonna lie, i think i will get another copy of new leaf but i really like the idea of having at least two characters so you can experience it all over again see things in the light where you couldn't see them before. Be treated differently. My friend got my Rooney by accident and she kept time travelling and left..she got a really nice letter from her non mayor character and a sort of formal one on her mayor one. I thought that was kinda cool in a way.

Yeah me too, i use to reset my games, Wild World, Nintendogs and after i did that it just changed everything for me. I found myself searching for that lil pup back but no matter what puppy i bought that memory was there and i was sad. It's the same with Wild World, some of the New Leaf characters i remember having and little things like that, its not as bad but for some they can experience a piece missing then it just ruins it all together, i seen that recently too. I say If they want to, go ahead sometimes experiencing for yourself is better than advice but that's easier said than done because i care about people and helping people lol.

this is really refreshing and i did this in my main town. for the longest time i only had my mayor, and then i made an alt in hopes of getting extra path QR space for my town and ive ended up decorating his house and making my own QRs and now i even have a second alt in my town. im glad i didn't reset my town when i felt like i kinda needed to, because i probably would have really regretted it in the end.

Making a character with the opposite gender can occasionally bring up dialog you wouldn't normally get so I often keep an eye out for that on my girl character. Kappin's songs are one of the more noticeable differences I've found but I still discover new conversations every now and then so I have fun trying to get every last word out of my town.

Funny thing, Whitney once told my side character how much she liked the Virgo harp my mayor gave her and she wouldn't sell it for anything except maybe a lot of bells, but then told my mayor she didn't like it and wanted to replace it... Then it showed up in Retail anyway when I didn't give her replacement furniture...

Yeah i got another for patterns also for a project i guesss or a idea. It's gonna take more than 6 slots though.

I haven't really explored yet but i hope it's a cute ride when i do. Yeah Ai tend to do that a ldot more now..sometimes they will randomly have new things in there house whether you gave it to them or not or sometimes even missing (retail). Julain put his bed up in retail, i sent it back to him. I hate ruining their homes its so pretty as it is why cant they leave it alone D:<. Now i'm worried the bed wont go in the space it use to be in. I also sent Bunnie a flat screen tv because she sold her couch (she has two) i was like praying the tv will go where the other couch wasn't and luckily it worked.

Once I get all 10 dreamies in my towns, I always create 3 resident characters. Sometimes I've even made 2 of those characters earlier than that, and I just leave 1 spot open for plot resetting purposes until I have my 10 villagers. Noveon and Luneta both have 3 residents each, the most you can make. Though I don't actually "play" these characters. They act as QR code mules and item storage. So far I've never had an issue with getting "bored" of any of my towns.

I time travel, i glitch things, i can get anything i want and personally, that ruins the whole game. I skip what the villagers say half the time, i can concentrate on what they say and sometimes i wonder what's the point of writing letters. That's how i got bored anyway. Starting again can be a good thing without trashing everything.
