i've never given away/received villagers that weren't via local wifi before. currently holding onto some higher tier villagers in the hopes of trading them for dreamies but i'm not certain on how it works.

if someone has a villager i want in boxes, and the villager im exchanging is not in boxes, do people still accept that or does it have to be a pretty much simultaneous trade? i can basically see why it would be problematic for someone to say 'yeah let me have your villager, and then i'll get back to you with yours.' and then disappear.

i'm also worried about voiding higher tier villagers if no one asks to have them, or if they can only offer bells.

anyone's experiences would be great

If you had great wifi ratings someone might be okay with an "iou" but it's less likely to happen since you don't have any. Not saying it's impossible though!! It might be easier to buy and sell vs. trade. I never have much luck trading villagers anyhow.

yeah trading villagers can be sketchy.... especially because you don't know the other person's life and if they cycle as fast as you and stuff... I usually trusting of people but it has bitten me in the butt! like I haven't heard one guy on this trade i did for like 4 days.... so I'm just like, your welcome beeyatch

^ ditto. be careful when trading bud. that's all I gotta say.

For something as heavy on trust as trading villager for villager, I would only do it with people who have LOTS of positive feedback.
