I have been TTing a lot lately to get villagers from campsite. I've gotten some good ones but now I'm at the point where I'm trying to get a balance of personalities and it's really hard for me to say goodbye to some of these guys. right now I have 3 lazy villagers: Moe, Punchy, and Zucker. I don't think I can let any of them go. Moe has extreme sentimental value to me, my best friend from WW. and now i'm TTing trying to get a dreamie jock or peppy (currently have 0 of each) and LUCKY shows up. I can't say no to Lucky. but my town is too lazy already. there's not being able to get all PWP but also having so many same personalities that have the same conversations with you kind of makes them lose their charm.
does anyone else feel conflicted when trying to balance the personality types?

omg same same sameeee

I have to many normal villagers (coco, pekoe, fauna, gala, lily) and the conversations are sooo repetitive now since half my villagers are normal huhuhu I wanna balance out the personalities and I really wanna let at least one go, but they're.. all.. just.... too cute ;__; and idk what to do anymore hahahah

Super-conflicted about this kinda thing! I mentioned in a thread the other day that my main town has 2 each of uchi, cranky and smug...that's 6 slots taken up by only 3 personality types. I keep trying to let one of the smugs or uchis go, but I caaaaaan't. And my other town has 4 lazies. So...mebbe the solution is to get another town going and move a couple over there? (wheeeeeeee!)

yeah I have been wanting to get another town, I cant pick just 10 cute little friends. I've been eyeing the *new* 3ds but I've also been thinking about getting a Japanese region 3ds so I can practice nihongo :)

I was in a similar position before. I had three Crankies: Gaston, Elvis, and Hopper. Gaston was one of my original villagers; he grew on me, is absolutely adorable and a sweetheart. Then Elvis was my next door neighbor who was also really sweet and adorable and was Vesta's best friend. And then there was Hopper, who I invited from the campsite because he was a penguin and I absolutely love him (and penguins in general). I had no jocks in my town and I needed to get the rest of the PWPs from the jocks and have a balanced town.

To solve my dilemma, I asked on here who I should give up, Elvis or Hopper. (Gaston was forever gonna stay in my town as my funny bunny.) The majority of people voted for Elvis. So I gave him up, sadly. I'm gonna miss that cutie face forever, but I gave him to someone who wanted him.

So, I guess the only thing to do is to choose the cutest one(s) that you can live without. Choose the ones who have the most value to you. And when you do finally give one of them up, take as many pictures with them as possible and then give them to someone who really wants them.

OR

Buy more cartridges and then send your favorites to that town so you can technically keep them forever ;)

I always make an effort to have no more than two of the same personalities, so I never get too attached to like, the third peppy villager that moves in. I just give away the villagers I love to my friend so I can still visit them when I miss them n-n

I have 4 normal dreamies, i wouldnt worry about it. you can still get at least one of each personality type in your town. i have seen towns with 5 of the personality, its just a preference. :)

I think it all comes down to what you like. I only have lazy, peppy and normal villagers because I find mine to be so cute. Some people really care about dialogue and in that case it is nice to balance the personalities out so you get different things. But I go for who I find cute and makes me happy when I see them, so personalities don't matter then.

But, I also would say it's best to get all your pwp's unlocked before settling on dreamies. I did that on my town, and now that I have them all unlocked I can have as many of what personalities I want and it won't matter much

I used to feel that way but then I just went, oh well, and now I have tons of normals. xD I'd say keep the villagers you want regardless of personality type. I mean, 3 of the same is no big deal, especially if you like them so much. :)

I have a similar problem. I don't have too many Normals yet but the villagers whose design I like tend to be Lazies (it's also the type that has repetitive dialogue but it's plain enough that it's not really grating or full of noticeable jokes that become annoying). I have enough of other personalities to have the PWPs I want but I don't want to hear the same things over and over. It doesn't help that I thought of letting one of my Lazies go (she's fairly popular so it'd be easy to find someone who could take her) but every time I think that, she does something cute.

I don't have any advice, I think it helps to restrict yourself to 2 or 3 repeated villagers, though. I guess it depends on how much it bothers you. Think about why you like and want each of those Lazies, and let go of the ones that you don't need in your town. You can always buy another copy of the game later and have a second town.
