Advice on Mapping Issue...

It took me FOREVER to get the town layout that i was looking for in my third game.. I finally have it, and most of the houses are where i would put them, aside from ONE.. Peggy has her house under the town square, The only house to the north of the river.. I really enjoy her in my town, but have been wrestling with the idea of letting her go to free up the space... Should I? I also, finally got pinged for the police station, where should i put it? My first two towns i hated the placement, and still do to this day, so I'm afraid just placing the station will make me dislike the map.. I was thinking just to the right of the entrance.. But any suggestions would help. Thanks

I think it looks fine! its close to the river and the other houses across from it, so its not like its floating in the middle of nowhere. Also, with the right paths connecting it, it probably looks really good. BTW, i love your town map omg. i wish i had that river placement!

Thanks, It took me forever to get this map, I dont even want to say how long...lol.. It's annoying that i cannot place the bridge directly center under the Tree because of the house placements, just like your map..lol.. the middle bridge looks like it shouldnt be there..Mollys house is the one behind town hall, i HATE that her house is there, but thats where it will stay.. CANT get rid of her.

It sounds like you're putting a lot of thought into this, which is great, but be sure not to stress yourself out too much!

The good thing about a forum like this is that you can always get Peggy again, however, it will likely not be the same one. And all villagers move out sometime, I'm sure Molly's turn is coming up, haha.

And with the Police station, I've always liked them right next to the entrance, usually on the right, but that's my personal preference. Try landscaping areas and imagine what the Station would look like in that area. Or check out some popular Dream Addresses and see if there's a placement you like. Luckily, with New Leaf, any permanent fixtures can be made beautiful with dedication. Your town's gonna look great ~

Thanks ) I do put a lot of thought into it and have. Stress no, lol.. all though this may be an unpopular opinion, It IS just a game, albeit one I really enjoy, but the second this game becomes stressful for me, I would stop playing... I do have things I want, or villagers i want and of course I want my town to be perfect but I have enough stress , as does anyone else. Mommy and Wife first Gamer second I have been visiting dream addys checking things out, some of the nicest parts of my towns are ideas I've spawned after seeing something i liked elsewhere. Again thanks for your input it is really appreciated.

Wow i really like where you placed the cafe and the police station! Crazy that our towns look so similar. how did you get such a good photo of your map>??

I can only imagine how hard it was to get such an amazing map. Love all the perm. placements!

I especially like where the cafe' and the campsite are. I once build them too close to each other. The campsite didn't feel "remote" enough.

Police station? Anywhere on the North-East side of the map would look great, and balance out all the other buildings on the South-West side of the map. It could be parallel to the train station, or even slightly closer to the Tree.

Thanks, It did take a while! Esp since i wasnt sure what kind of map i wanted... All i knew was i wanted a centralized tree, but once i saw this map i fell in love. My other two town maps are so similar to each other, and look like most all other maps that i wanted something different. I agree with the police stations placement, and I too put the cafe and campsite very close together in my second town.. having regrets about my first to towns placements makes it so much harder trying to figure out where to place things on this map.

I'm in love with my second town...it works for what I want for that town. Everything about it I love.
In one of my other towns I have retail half way between the train station and the dock, and I've put everything around the slightly not quite center Eastern town tree. I kinda love it, but paths are tricky.

after having multiple town placement regrests...I am VERY careful when resetting. I know what I want and I'm gonna get it!

I think Peggy's house is just a matter of perspective. I think it looks nice because it makes the south side of your map look slightly less crowded, and it's close enough to the river that she's not far away from everyone.

I think the police station would look nice by the train tracks, across the way from the train station.
