Redd is boycotting my town. He did show up Fireworks Night, but his tent of art works is nowhere to be seen now for the last 3 weeks. I am not sure how often Katrina visits but she has not pitched her tent also for approx same length of time.
I had no paving or anything else to obstruct a tent being erected, can anyone pls advise. I didn't put any paving down until fireworks night and carefully avoided where Redd and Isabelle were sited.
Hm, I would say don't worry about it, Redd shows up very rarely in my town too. I've had the game since the release date, but have only seen Redd's tent like twice in my town. He doesn't always come every week, it's pretty randomn.
At least I am not alone then, I thought he would show up at least once a week like in Wild World. I guess I better start saving my bells then, looks like I may have to buy in works of art if I want my museum to be catered for.
I don't get Redd very often, either. I have had a number of villagers offer me art though, which is REALLY annoying since you can't see it first to check whether it's a dud
For what it's worth, you can put down patterns all you want. When a special character wants to put up their tent on your plaza, they just shove them out of the way with no regard for your designs.
I didn't get Redd for like 2-3 weeks (closer to 3 weeks) when I first started. After that, he started to come more often. You might just be having a streak of bad luck. I can't remember when I got Katrina for the first time.
I have a pattern on my plaza where Redd and Katrina show up, I just lose one tile when they're there and put it back when they're gone. That said though, Redd has shown up twice in nearly two months, last time was a week and a half ago (not including fireworks). I only got my museum 2nd floor cos a villager gave me an artwork (none of them have done that since). Katrina seems to turn up roughly once a week with the occasional week off. Gulliver turns up about once a fortnight for me. Hubby on the other hand seems to get someone showing up every day, he's got Redd today and he was only just there at the end of last week! So I guess it's just random.
That you everyone that has replied, it has stopped me fretting about where Redd has got to. Perhaps he heard all the nasty things I said about him for selling me fakes when he did first show. I have since found the work of art guide and have been dying to try out my new found knowledge, but not a sight of him since.
If you have the ACNL guide app on your smartphone it will have a list of all artwork and how to tell if its fake or not. This has come in handy for me, I've had Redd in my town a few times and have only had 1 piece of artwork that wasn't fake >_<
