I've been thinking about adding a new save file to help with my QR codes. Does anyone do that? Is it worth it? How do you like it? Is it helpful?

I know a lot of people have an extra character just for patterns. I suppose it depends on whether you need one (for example, you have a lot of path patterns to lay out), and whether you are willing to give up space for another house in your town where a PWP could be built or whatever.

I have 3 characters in my town. All patterns spots are filled on all 3

Cool. Are you able to access all the patterns from one character? Or do you have to log into the character to use their paths? Sorry for the newb questions. I am just amazed at some of the towns in the dream towns that I see!

You have to switch characters to use their patterns. It is like that on all the AC games

OH ok. I see. New Leaf is my first AC game. So I'm trying to learn. Ok. I think I'm going to go for it! I just wanted some advice. This should make the game a little more exciting.

The spaces fill up fast.

My main has one slot for my clothes, and then rest are paths/grass

Wife's character is filled with different paths

Alt /Camper is filled with yet another path

I think it's super awesome to have multiple characters for QR files and additional fun houses to decorate.

My main mayor's house is just stuff I like and she holds the main path QR files for the town. Her house is fancy castle on the outside…
My second character has kind of a clothing and wig shop house with an arcade and a cafe on the top floor. Her house is mermaid on the outside. It was fun to use the more over the top cutesy exterior on my second character and put different shops in her house that I wouldn't have done with my main mayor. She holds some additional QR path files, too.

My third character's house has a lot of restaurants and a spa and kitchen in it. His exterior house is more cottages and he holds the QR file for my face standee and some water QR path files.

I think it's a lot of fun to have more than one house to decorate, you can have different themes or building ideas for each house and you get a ton more QR spaces.

I did it and didn't regret it either<3 I dress her as Katie and made her house into a school and nursery hehe. It was near my park too which made it even better (even though it was unintentional). I could store my patterns and designs too and also have room for some other on my mayor character.

It's worth it! And you can do all types of things with your new character (e.g decorating their houses and making them into different buildings!) and more space for QR codes! Also very efficient for buying locker fulls of turnips. :~)

Just remember that you won't be able to use QR clothes once you used all 10 pattern slots for paths.
