actually going to cry

My husband would move heaven and earth to get me a new one if I ruined mine like that. This game is one of the few things that keeps me out of a full on depression (my dog being the other).

I'll pray that it works out for you.

My boyfriend would do the same thing and I know exactly how you feel to have something like that in your life to keep you happy :) It's a wonderful experience!

I'm extremely confident that your DS will be fine, xoeffy, given so many people have given you excellent advice and you're quick to the draw, if you know what I mean :P Rice is a electronics saver, and you'll be surprised how resilient DS's can be. I've dropped my 3DS quite a bit recently and it's been working perfectly. No scratches or scuffs either! Best wishes! :D

Oh no! I hope your ds will be okay!
That's unfortunate event. >:
Well, maybe next time you should put it in a plastic bag near the kitchen?? 0:
(Just a suggestion, so this won't happen again!)

Do you have any of those little pouches of silica gel that come in things like shoes and bags and say "Do Not Eat!" I would take the game cartridge and put it in a bag with a couple of those in it and set it on your dryer (clothes dryer not hair dryer). My Pokewalker (remember those!) went through the washing machine and didn't work when I pulled it back out. Used this method, and it worked fine the next day.

I hope you didn't lose your data! Best of luck to you!

Rice & hairdryer is your best bet. Don't worry! I know its not exactly the same, but I have dropped my current iPhone in water about 4 times now (toilet, chicken noodle soup, pool & bathtub) and every single time, I've immediately used a hairdryer on low for about 20 minutes on and off, then put in rice for the rest of the day. It works completely fine (besides the camera flash not working every now and again, but no biggie) and you would never know it happened! :)

You guys it works! Okay, so I got a bit impatient and blow-dried it for a bit this morning and turned it on. On the home screen, the toggle stick(not sure if that's what you call it) was a bit messed up. It keeps going left after I move it around. So I go into the game and the login screen shows that it's winter in my town. So I start freaking out that if I TT I'll lose my favorite villagers. But I did it anyway and everything is exactly how it was. Agnes is still going to move out tomorrow (yay!) and the toggle stick works fine in the game. I played it for like 10 minutes and everything seems to be working okay. I'm going to leave it in the rice for the rest of the day just to be sure but ahh ive actually never been so happy in my life. Thank you all for your prayers and advice, it means alot :)

So happy for you!!! What a relief! I'll take your moving Agnes if nobody else has :)

For sure :) I will add you and open my gates right away

Did the cartridge get in the water? :O

I'm pretty sure it didn't. It was kind of a panic moment for me it was all kind of a blur haha I just grabbed it as fast as I could and didn't really notice how i fell in but when I removed the cartridge it didn't seem to be wet but I dried it anyway and put it in rice. Everything seems perfect so far

Okay bad news. As soon as I went and tried to open my gates the screens started flickering which kind of freaked me out so I'm going to put it back in the rice for the day. I will try it again later tonight and pm you cielle

Woot Woot! :D When I was 7 or 8 I dropped my Gameboy in a lake and bawled.. But I just kinda stood there and watched it sink.... So it was kinda my fault. ANYWAY! I've been in similar situations.

To the original poster. I want to do something nice for you.

I read on your profile you are in Canada.
I think the Canadian people are very kind and sincere.

Many years ago, a Canadian man did something very nice for me and I never forgot it.

If your 3DS is broken and not fixable --- I will purchase one for you and ship it to Canada.

I trust you are being honest about your 3DS -- and I want you to trust me. I am no pyscho killer.

I believe in good Karma.

ACNL is such a nice game about sharing and caring. I want the game to be shared with my real life.

Hugs.

Elena

Private message me to let me know the status of your 3DS.
