Acorns

Does anyone know if acorns are still dropping? I tried to get more today but none have fallen.

I got pine cones, so I assume acorns are dropping. I do better with acorns when I shake the fruit trees rather than the pine trees.

I went acorn hunting today. They are still falling. I find that some trees seem to give more than others, so shake a variety of trees!

I found that my fruit trees give a lot more acorns than my normal trees. Which is weird to think about...

They should drop until the end of fall (end of November for Northern Hemisphere) but both they and pinecones are pretty rare in general. You just gotta keep shaking! Remember you can shake a tree multiple times to get more.

...The good news is, I don't think anyone will be hurting for twigs anytime soon

I know! I have so many twigs to clean up...

Possibly a dumb question- you are shaking the oak (regular, non-pine) trees to try and find them, right?

Yep. I had shaken pines too, to see if I was still getting them

Lol, okay, I figured but I know I've definitely had questions where the most obvious answer was the right one Yah, both pinecones and acorns are pretty rare, so you just gotta keep trying. And cleaning up the twigs as you go helps- that way you can just keep shaking the same tree indefinitely. I don't think the trees ever "run out" of things to drop.

I thought a tree only dropped acorns once. Now I feel dumb XD

I thought that for a long time, too! Happy to help. Can’t really take credit because I learned that from someone else on this forum.

I've always stuck with one pine, and one regular tree.

I shake each one until I have ten pine cones and ten acorns.
It doesn't take that long.
