ACNL RV Cards

so ii have a new 3DS XL, with the ACNL Welcome Amiibo Game..

so as ive understood you can scan in a WA Card of the Villager of your choice/you have and they can be put in your town.. or an RV can show up

now, my question is.. do all Cards work the same? such as the JP Cards? like if my friend has a JP RV Card for someone, can ii use it on my DS/Game? or does my DS/Game have to be from/set for like JP time/area?

okay good to know tysm! ii was also thinking of buying the RV cards, and someone has them all in JP so thats also why ii wanted to know! tysm for the info
