I found a piece of Animal Crossing: New Leaf fanfiction online and I felt like sharing it with everyone! note I did not write this.

I shifted nervously in my seat and looked out the car window, hoping to calm my nerves. Mom and Dad were driving me to the train station today, and in about an hour I'd be living on my own in a new town.
"Are you nervous, love?" Mom asked.
"Nope..." I said quietly, letting my voice trail off at the end.
Dad laughed, "Mae, we know you too well. Tell us what you're thinking."
When I didn't say anything Mom added, "You don't have to do this, Mae. You can stay at home with us for a little longer and--"
"No!" I said quickly. "I mean... I'm okay."
My mom frowned, "You know, maybe you're just not ready."
"Everyone else my age has already moved out of our town, and they're all starting new lives in other villages! Mom, why wouldn't I be ready?" I asked, frustrated.
"It doesn't matter what everyone else is doing, Mae. If you're not comfortable leaving home yet--"
"Ok, I'm a little nervous," I finally admitted.
"Well there's nothing wrong with that!" My dad said, trying to ease the tension that had built between me and my mom. "You just don't know what to expect. But, Rosewood is a great town! You're going to love it there, Mae."
I nodded. "Yeah... you're right Dad!" I said, with more confidence. "Just because I'm a little nervous doesn't mean that I'm not ready! Every picture of Rosewood we've seen is beautiful, and I bet everyone there is really nice."
"That's the spirit!" Dad smiled and winked.
The truth is I was more than just a little nervous, but there was something inside that told me moving to Rosewood would be the right choice.
"I know you're worried about me, Mom." I said gently. "But I'll be alright. You and Dad have taught me everything I need to know."
Mom smiled, "You're a very smart girl, Mae. I know you will be just fine, but I'm going to miss you. Promise you'll write to us, once you get settled?"
"I promise."

We finally reached the train station when it started to rain. I took a deep breath. You can do this, I told myself as I stepped out of the car. Dad took my suitcase out of back of the car and pulled out two umbrellas.
"Can you believe this weather? The sun was shining the entire way here." Dad said in disbelief, as he handed me an umbrella.
Well, I do love rain, I thought, so maybe this a sign that Rosewood won't be too bad.

Once we were settled inside the train station and tucked away from the rain, Mom handed me my ticket. "The train will be here in about fifteen minutes. Are you sure you have everything?" She asked.

I glanced at my suitcase and made sure that I had my umbrella in case it was raining in Rosewood before nodding.

After sitting in the train station for what seemed like forever and a day, the train finally rolled in. "If you ever get homesick you know where we are." Mom said as she hugged me. "And don't forget about that letter!" She said with a smile, as I gently pulled away from the hug. I turned to Dad, who also pulled me into a hug. "We'll miss you, Mae. I know you'll do great things in--"
"Rosewood! All headed to Rosewood please board the train now!" The porter called out.
I laughed. "He finished your sentence for you, Dad!"
Dad smiled, "Well, we don't want you to miss that train." I nodded and made my way over to the Porter, handing him my ticket before climbing the steps into the train. I chose a seat next to a window, so I could wave to Mom and Dad. They smiled and waved back, and the train's wheels slowly began to turn and I was pulled away from the station.

I don't remember falling asleep on the train, but when I woke up my heart was pounding. Worried that I might have missed the stop, I ventured toward the front of the train and asked the Porter if we had passed Rosewood. "Not yet, ma'am." He replied. Relieved, I made my way back to my seat and sat down. "Hi there!" I turned my head to the right and came face to face with a dark blue cat with a big smile on his face. "You don't mind if I sit with you, do ya?" I shook my head and he took the seat across from me.
"Thanks! My name's Rover, by the way."
"Mae." I said politely.
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Mae! I love riding the trains because I get to meet all sorts of new people. So where're ya headed?"
"Ummm, it's a small town called Rosewood."
"Ohhh, Rosewood! Riiiiight! Great town! I'm sure you'll love it there!"
I smiled, "I hope so."
"And the rain is finally starting to clear up!" Rover said excitedly. I followed his gaze to the window and saw that he was right. The rain had slowed and it looked like the sun was starting to peak out from the clouds.
"Next stop, Rosewood!" The porter announced as the train began to slow down.
"Hey, looks like your ride is almost over!" Rover said.
I nodded nervously. I could feel small butterflies fluttering everywhere inside my stomach.
"Now arriving at Rosewood!" The train slowed to a stop, as I quickly gathered my things and stood up.
"Umm, it was nice talking to you Rover." Although, he did most of the talking, I thought to myself.
"Yeah, I had a great time! Oh, and Mae?"
I quickly turned around before getting off the train. Rover was still sitting across from the seat I had just left. "Yes?" I asked.
"Good luck in Rosewood!"
I smiled and hopped off the train. I stood in Rosewood's train station and waved goodbye to Rover until I could no longer see him. Leaving the train station, I took a deep breath and tried to relax, but nothing could prepare me for what happened next.
