I've been reliving the same day so I can extend the moveout time for one of my villagers until her new home is ready. I decided to use this "Groundhog day" effect to get some work down on my second and third character's house. I was on my secondary character and wasn't paying attention to who pinged me. It was her and I already hit the A button. She told me she was moving out so I went with the B answer which was "That's great!" Her reply made me cringe because she said "Yes, it's a big responsibility so I may have to think on it some more."

Did I just mess up her moving plans?

That may mean she's staying. :c

The best bet is to not talk to a villager once you tell them to move. If you speak to them, it may cause them to want to stay in town for a while longer. Even if they ping you, don't talk to them until they're in boxes if you want to wish them a farewell.

If you didn't save yet, you can always reset. That's what I did when Lily told me she was actually staying, and she ended up moving anyway.

too late then - I was transferring funds to my daughter's town at the time and I think the game auto-saves at that point. I'll TT to tomorrow and see if she pings me. If I messed up then I shall just cycle through again.

It pnly took 3 days the last time.. so new to this moving, I still have all my original townie except for one and I didn't want to save her for anyone. I'll just go and sit in the corner of shame.

If she doesn't end up moving, I think it takes 3-5 days for somebody else to ping again. Don't quote me on that, though... I don't cycle and let villagers move out naturally so I'm not sure how long it actually takes.

Yup I just TT'd to the next day and she confirmed that she's not moving, but that's ok at least the damage is repairable, and lesson learned. Next time, don't move from door way - :P LOL, - I'll just cycle her back to moving status, and if I have to hold I'll just pop in to reset time, don't move from doorway and save until before I go to bed when I shall rinse and repeat.
