I accidentally messed up plot resetting? Like how did that even happen? I picked up Coco Wednesday in game, changed the time to 5:55am, and then tried starting to reset, and her house was already there? Like what? It?s not in a horrible spot, but it made me rethink about where I put the campsite.
You probably did the same thing I did. When you set the time to 5:5x, you also need to set the date to the next day. So if it's the 21st, you'd set it to the 22nd 5:59 AM. Because if you don't it sees it as going back in time. If it's the 21st at 9:20 PM and then you set it to 5:59 on the same date, that's technically the same day, just a lot earlier.
Sorry it happened to you. It happened to me twice before I realized what I was doing wrong. :T
I've found that the time doesn't actually matter just the date. So for campsite villagers there will be a one day break before their plot shows up. So what you'll want to do is on the day after the break open up your game and create a new save file. When you've created the new save file look around for a plot. When you find the plot if it's in a spot you like go through the process of getting a home and saving on the new save file, if not close animal crossing and keep repeating the process until the plot is in a place you're happy with. The next day the villager will have moved in.
edit: I forgot to mention for non campsite villagers the day that their plot show's up varies a lot so you'll want to start each day with a new save file to check for a plot with these.
I'd have to agree with the user above me. It usually takes two days for a villager to move in so if you changed the date to 5:55 am it would be past midnight so it would be a new day! That means that the villager would already be there! I hope this helps you! Good luck plot resetting in the future, it can be so hard 0_0 (it once took me 5 hours to find a good spot lol) But don't give up! Have a good day, bye-bye!
