So late last night on a I found a YouTube video where a Japanese AC player was able to access his 4th level cliff and decorate it. Photo here:

It was pretty late at night and I didn't feel like making a post about it at the time so I decided to leave it for the next day. However now the video isn't in my view history and I can't find it on YouTube so I can't link the exact one I saw, but luckily found another player demonstrating the same thing here.

Basically, if you place a 1x1 object diagonally behind you and use the cliff construction tool in front of you on the 3rd level, you can be pushed up onto the 4th. He goes on to show everything you can do on the 4th level in the video.

Has anyone personally tried this or heard of this before? It was the first time I had heard of it so I was pretty surprised, but I'm curious as to whether there will be a risk of glitching out your cliffs if something goes wrong.

I honestly only saw people say you could do this if you hacked? But maybe there is a way around it? I might test :0

That's crazy? I'm honestly shocked the game didn't have a prompt saying that it's too high for objects and the like. Probably means that the game still thinks you're on the third level.

This is super cool, but I would personally never try this. Don't wanna risk the game corrupting especially since there are no cloud saves yet.

Yep reading through the comments people are basically saying that there's no way to say for sure that this will corrupt your save data, but it's a bug so climb at your own risk.
It's a shame because it is super cool though!

From watching that video you linked, he essentially glitched his character up there. Lots of video games have boundary breaking glitches that don't require hacking. If you check out speedrunners, a lot of them take advantage of stuff like that. It's considered legal for speedrunning because you're not using any kind of cheat device.

But for purposes of NH, I would be worried that eventually the glitch could get patched out. That could mean that you may not be able to get up there anymore to remove the furniture. And if you can't remove the furniture, then you also couldn't remove the cliff that it's sitting on.

It looks cool, but I wouldn't want to risk it. Nintendo obviously doesn't want us to access the 4th level if they don't let us get up there naturally.

It isn't an intended feature to access those cliffs, so I wouldn't do anything to get up there. The risk vs reward is definitely not worth it.

Fwiw, there's someone who discovered a clipping OoB glitch and did this quite awhile ago and it hasn't ruined his game or save at all, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

That's really cool but I do agree that it's risky, unless you're really sure about what to put in your 4th level cliff and don't mind not being able to access and destroy it once it gets (assuming) patched out then feel free to do so

That's cool! If only there video didn't become private within a single day… I wanted to see the glitch myself.
